It was already bad enough that my father and mother wanted me to get married to Stephen Mario but what happened to having their child’s back .

Laughing at the thought of them having my back I wondered why they would have my back when growing up they never had meaningful conversations with me but we did appear as a perfect family in order to paint a different picture to them .

Finally getting up from my bed I dressed up hurriedly not forgetting to keep my pills in my bag.

I stared out blankly wondering what in particular I could do to get my mind off other things and my present situation.

I picked up my laptop as I arranged to attend my online class .

My phone rang interrupting me

As I picked it up

“Hey cousin “ I heard Cassy’s cheerful voice .

“Heyy” I replied

“I’m calling to check up on you sis ” she said

“Thank you Cassy ” I replied

“You good?”she asked .

I knew the answer to that and definitely I wasn’t good , nothing looked okay to me anymore .

“You know I’m not okay Cassy ” I said

“Fine let’s go out alone , I mean it’s been long since we did that .” She said .

“Not again Cassy last time was a disaster I’m not interested ” I replied

“Please I promise this time I’m not ditching you”she pleaded.

“Okay can I think about it first ” I asked .

After we both ended the call I picked up my bags and my laptop as I was still having classes and headed to the office after I received an important email from dad .

Entering the board room I sat down quietly

“Harriet you are so early dear ” my dad said sarcastically.

Totally ignoring him and not replying because I knew if I did reply it would lead to an argument.

“Well let’s wait patiently for Wilson’s fire ” he had not completed his word when the jerk stepped in radiating pride all over him .

Rolling my eyes as I noticed he approached he’s seat which was towards me

“Hello everyone ” he greeted as he sat down comfortably.

“Hey Red” he whispered.

Ignoring him totally was my motive as I didn’t reply to his greeting .

“Welcome everyone, I am pleased to announce that my daughter engagement would be official next week and you are all invited ” I heard my father say

“What ?! ” I yelled standing up abruptly pushing my chair off “is this why you called this meeting ?!, and which of your daughters because it’s definitely not me except you have one we don’t know ” I shouted .

“Respect your self and maintain your manners especially in an environment like this don’t make me repeat myself ” father said without looking remorseful.

Without a word I hurriedly picked up my files as I left the board room .

JAY WILSON POV

“Wow! Who would have guessed that was the word that left my lips the moment I heard the information from red’s father himself .

“Mr philps I sent my secretary to deliver the new project to Miami headquarters for me ” I said .

After the spoilt red walked out of the office , the conversation hasn’t been going well as we have been arguing on shares .

I needed mr Philips to know I wasn’t joking when I said I didn’t joke with my investment especially when I don’t get positive impact .

“Mr philps I do hope I didn’t make a mistake investing to this , I do hope I’m going to see a positive result ” I said to him

“Not at all mr Wilson you made the right decision ” he replied

“Good ! I will be stating in the file our deal and duration of the deal ” I replied .

“Alright mr Wilson ” he replied shaking my hands to say goodbye .

As I walked out of the office I wondered why red’s reply was like that when her dad talked about the wedding, Did she want to get married or was she angry because she wanted a private wedding . I wondered .
