The question rang in my head as I wondered what reply I could give

“If —- I hadn’t —-ins— isted on going for —the reunion party —then maybe —they—won’t ha— ve been an accident that sh—ould have been me I should have D— ieddd ” I stuttered

“You feel that you couldn’t get the drivers license number who ran you all over so you feel guilt ” my therapist asked

Nodding in reply

Taking a deep breath “ I tried my best I mean I did everything possible but the case closed the authorities said he was high on drugs and alcohol but he never drank ” I said crying all the memories came back

“Breath in breath out ” my therapist encouraged

“You still have memories of him? Items inclusive ” she asked

I smiled sadly as I remembered

‘Babe you have all my T-shirts in your wardrobe it’s like you steal each every time you come over ‘ he said

‘C’mon you understand that yours is actually more comfortable than mine ‘ I said giggling

‘Of course your highness it’s yours not complaining’ he said

Laughing hard I threw the pillow towards his direction as we laughed hard

With Zack it was filled with laughter and joy it was always filled with smile and I felt in a total different world …

“Harriet you zoned out I’m assuming you have items ” she called

“Can I ask you a question ” she asked

Nodding in reply

“Do you believe you can give love another chance ” she asked

I froze I already knew the answer to that question

I flashed back to the first time I saw Zack :

‘Growing up I always had a secret place where I would go whenever I wanted to be alone I would always listen to the sounds of the chirping birds as I sat on a particular spot

But on this particular day someone else has sat there before me I wondered who that was cause that place was always hidden and I discovered it first.

I sighted a blonde haired boy seated on my spot.

Moving closer I sat down “ hey I’m Harriet you are sitting on my spot ” I told him

“I’m so sorry Harriet I’m Zack I just moved here needed a spot to think didn’t think I was intruding I apologize ” he said preparing to leave

“No it’s okay we could share ” I whispered telling him

“So you just moved here ?” I asked

“Yea my mums a nanny at Clifford residence ” he replied

I was about replying when my phone rang bringing out my IPhone X which was regarded as the best most expensive phone then

I ended the call when I noticed it was my mother

Looking up I saw he had a shocked expression on his face

“I can see you are definitely not the nanny’s daughter like me ” he stated smiling

“Why?” I asked

“You know why ? But you sound different from the other people I have communicated with around here so polite ” he said

I understood what he meant as people around this area where so rude and barely gave respect out if you weren’t to their class as they said

We had a conversation that day which was the best conversation I had with someone

He was so intelligent and cracked funny jokes He understood me

We kept seeing each other finally agreed to be official.

He worked three shifts every valentine to get me present

I was never bothered cause when it came to him I was very contented

Zack stood by me and always gave me a reason to smile

He never liked to party cause he complained that the Rich had a way they partied , he was cultured

‘But you know I don’t see you that way right ‘I told him

“Of course you gave me a different impression on how I saw people “ he replied

Laughing hard I said “that’s why we are going to leave a happily ever after “

“Of course you stuck with me forever “ he replied laughing

As we both laughed hard Grinning with my cheekbones hurting from blushing so hard “I love you ”he said

Hugging him I replied “I love you ”

Finally giving a reply to my therapist question I looked straight into her eyes “No” I said
