Nodding her head in reply she said “That’s all for today Harriet , I want you to go home and take your pills also I want you to associate with others more so you don’t end up having more flashbacks.

“Thank you ” I replied .

Lifting my bags up I thought of a way I could put an end to this charade of a wedding my patents were setting up .

All my years I tried my possible best not to disrespect my parents , but the only crime I had done in their eyes was having a relationship with Zack irrespective of being told not to .

I wondered who could help me stop this wedding when Cassy’s name came to my mind.

I smiled cause I knew she could help me strategize and work this out , she was always a rule breaker and never adhered to rules .

Picking up my phone I called her “hello” I greeted

“Harriet you called that’s strange , I hope you are okay ?” She replied

“I’m sorry I need your help” I pleaded

Without hesitation she replied “Alright come over I’m waiting ”

Minutes later I arrived at cassy’s house

“Hey Harriet come in ” she said as she opened the entrance door for me.

“Thank you ” I replied quietly.

“I know it’s important so what’s it ” she said

“I need your help I don’t want to get married ” I quickly said .

With a shocked expression on her face

“You get married ? I don’t understand I mean you are young Harriet ” she said

“My parent’s want me to get married, Cassy, not me ” I replied

“Harriet you don’t have to listen to them at all times, you are an adult and have a right to give your opinion especially when it concerns you ” She advised

“I have tried Cassy, I don’t know what else to do. You were my last hope . I don’t want to have to get married to Stephen he’s an egotistical rude human being ” I replied .

Smiling broadly she said “ wow ! Okay this is the longest statement I have heard from you in years. You know what always wondered what happened to the sweet young cousin I had you became a quiet reserved person ”

“A lot happened Cassy it’s a long story ” I replied

“Well let’s say I’m bored and willing to listen ” she quickly replied adjusting her self in a comfortable position .

Taking a deep breath I narrated everything to Cassy without leaving details . I felt so at peace that I could finally have a long conversation with someone other than my therapist.

“Oh my ! Your life has been a movie with a sad ending , I’m so sorry you had to go through this yourself Harriet . I know we haven’t been close growing up but I mean I consider you the only good cousin I can relate with ” she said

Nodding my head in reply I said smiling “ I mean I consider you the only good cousin too ”

“You know I was never this spoilt rebellious daughter , it all started when my life was basically a planned script growing up . I had to always go against their rules to get what I wanted for myself . What am I even saying today is your story , some other time I will tell you my story . But I want you to know what Harriet you didn’t kill him , you have to let it go . I don’t know him but I think he wouldn’t want you being in pain for so long ” she said as she opened her hands offering me a hug.

Hugging her I felt so at peace and calm as I silently sobbed .

“Secondly , I may have had a history with Stephen Mario and trust me, I won’t let you get married to him ” she said

Shocked that the fact that she had something to do with him I asked confused “what do you mean by a history with him ? ”

“I think it’s best we let that slide and focus on stopping the engagement and wedding we can have the conversation another time . I need you to come out of your shells cause I know inside that mute girl is a strong , confident Harriet and In order for our plan to work out you have to be a Rebel ” she said .

I didn’t care what or how I was going to do it even though it meant acting rebellious but I had to do everything in my power to stop the wedding .
