Three days later, Group Evans president's office.
Gavin sneaked and opened the door, walked up to Brandon and yelled, "Hi! Brandon."
He expected Brandon to be startled, but instead he looked up at him without a reaction.
"You're bored, aren't you?
Gavin was not deterred by Brandon's cold pressure. After seeing clearly the faint red mark on his right face, he showed a surprised expression instead.
"Wow, who is it? Who was bold enough to punch you in the face? !"
Brandon's face turned black. "If you don’t have anything to say, get out of here!"
Gavin smiled contemptuously. "I'm here to talk to you about the land in the south of town. But now I think we can talk about this later. Let's talk about who punched you in the face?"
Gavin immediately guessed when Brandon didn't speak. The corners of his mouth rose more sharply.
"Did Ann hit you? Is the news in the entertainment headlines the other day true?"
Brandon scowled and did not answer. Gavin smiled and put his arm around him. "Let's go out and have a cup of coffee and talk."
Sunshine Cafe.
Gavin brought Brandon here against his will.
Not long after they went in, Ann got out of the taxi and stood at the door looking around with a frown.
Mandy said she would arrange a blind date for her today and let them meet at noon in front of the Sunshine Cafe.
When Ann was a little impatient, she heard a deep, magnetic voice behind her.
"Ms. Wilson, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
Ann turned around and saw a tall and handsome man standing behind her. He wore a white shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned at random, and his pale skin was visible. There was a ruffian smile on his lips, and something of a rebellious air.
"Eddie Clinton?"
"I didn't expect you to know me. It seems that my name is really famous in City A."
Ann frowned imperceptibly.
Of course she knew the name. He and Brandon are at the top of the list.
Brandon used to be famous for drinking and fighting, while Eddie was also a prodigal in love in addition to these behaviors.
Eddie is the second son of the Clinton family. It’s said that he was not born to Mrs. Clinton, but was brought home at the age of 14, the illegitimate son of Peter Clinton.
Seeing Ann's silence, Eddie was not angry and said with a smile, "I came late because of the traffic jam. Let me buy you a cup of coffee to make amends."
Ann could not refuse, nodded, and walked into the coffee shop with Eddie.
"There's a good spot in that corner. Let's sit over there."
Ann had no objection and followed him to sit down together. They each ordered a cup of coffee. The waiter said, "Just a moment, please." He turned and left.
Neither of them spoke, quietly waiting for the coffee to arrive.
As Soon as Gavin and Brandon sat down, he asked, "Come on, tell me, did Ann really hit you? Did you provoke her first? Or did she provoke you?"
Judging from their two meetings, it seems unlikely that Ann will take the initiative to provoke Brandon.
Gavin realized Brandon wasn't listening to him. He followed his sullen gaze. "Is that Eddie?" he said in surprise. “Does a guy like him come for coffee?"
He looked puzzlingly at Brandon, then back at Eddie.
It's weird. Brandon never had much to do with Eddie. Brandon didn't have to stare at him like he wanted to eat him!
The more he thought about it, the more he looked at the woman sitting across from Eddie, the more familiar she looked.
Right! Ann!
"Why would Ann be with Eddie? Do they know each other?"
Brandon stared at them, gritted his teeth, and suddenly stood up, ready to go.
"Brandon, what are you going to do now?"
Brandon stiffened and suddenly stopped.
"As her ex-fiance? I don't suppose that identity matters if she's seeing other men, does it? A friend? It's not like you guys were friends. Aren't you overextending yourself a little?" Gavin said with a half-smile.
Brandon clenched his hand at his side, veins bulging on the back of it, but he took no further step.
Gavin pulled him back into his seat.
"I actually wanted to ask you three years ago. Even if you didn't like Ann, why did you promise to be engaged with her and then go back on your word at the engagement party and say those insulting words? What were you thinking?"
What Brandon was thinking, no one knows. Even Gavin, his best friend who grew up with him, can't figure out what he's thinking.
Gavin peeked out of the corner of his eye at Ann in the back, sighed, and said, "I'll be honest. Four years of college and you know what a jerk you are. The rest of us have seen how good Ann has been to you these past four years.”
"Brandon, if you really love Ann, you should apologize and go after her. If you don't like her, leave her alone. When the news came out the other day, a lot of people in City A were laughing behind her back. Ann is a nice girl. Just let her go."
Ann chased Brandon for four years in college. Although they got engaged because on Ann's birthday, they got drunk and accidentally had sex. But girls get the short end of the stick. Ann did not cry and beg him to be responsible for it. It’s he who agreed to be engaged but then changed his mind at the engagement party.
Gavin really thinks Brandon is a jerk.
Brandon's face was black enough, anger bubbling in his chest.
Gavin wasn't involved. How could he understand what was going on?! ?
He opened his mouth several times to explain, but refrained.
The waiter brought the coffee up.
Eddie braced his chin and looked at Ann languidly, "My brother Edward was supposed to be your blind date today."
Ann was a little confused by this. She looked quizzically at the man in front of her.
"Has that been in your mind since you met me? Why am I your blind date?"
Ann took a sip of the coffee awkwardly and said with a dry smile, "No, no..."
Eddie raised his eyebrows. "When I saw your pictures they sent, I thought I had fallen in love with you at first sight. Just my brother had something to do, so I took his place."
Ann choked on her coffee before she swallowed it when she heard Eddie’s word. She coughed violently, covering her mouth.
"Cough......"
As Eddie pulled out the tissue to hand it over, he noticed an unfriendly look nearby. He gently wiped the coffee from Ann's mouth with his arm outstretched.
Gavin sat across from Brandon, visibly feeling his anger burning. He's afraid he's gonna go in there and punch Eddie in the face the next second.
