XAVIER’S POV

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration.

“How did this happen? I mean who blew up the laboratory?” Eva questioned.

“ I don’t know, I seriously don’t know what’s going on” I yelled hitting my hand hard on the table.

“Why is she always ahead of us, Xavier why?” Eva groaned.

“ Seriously I am fed up with this whole thing, I’m fed up” She added.

“ Even I am fed up with this. I don’t know which possible way to get a hold on that heartless being” I replied.

“ Arrrghh, if I in any way crosses part with her, I swear I’ll kill her myself” I threatened.

“ Which other possible way can we capture her and even if there’s a mole among us, how will we find out who it is?” Eva asked pacing to and fro.

“ I don’t know. I need some time to think” I replied and my phone rang.

I picked up when I saw the caller ID.

“Hello, Sir” I answered.

“Agent Xavier. I need you and Agent Eva at the headquarters now” He commanded.

“ Ok, we’ll be right there” I said and ended the call.

“ Commissioner wants both of us in his office” I said.

“ Why?” Eva asked.

“ I don’t know, let’s Gobi replied and we left.

AT THE HEADQUARTERS, ORLANDO,11:00 AM ?

We entered the commissioners office and saw him seated.

He doesn’t look happy to me.

“We’re here Sir” Eva said snapping him out of his thoughts.

“Welcome, have a sit” He replied and we both sat down.

“ You don’t look happy Sir” I said.

“Am I suppose to be happy, Xavier? “He asked and I nodded negatively.

“ Remember the commander gave you and Eva 3 months to handle this case and it’s already 2 weeks and still, nothing has been done” Commissioner said and I gave him a puzzled look.

“And it has come to my notice that both of you are not serious with this case” He added and I sent him a glare immediately.

Is this man stupid or nuts?

“How can you say that Sir?” Eva asked.

“Because that’s the truth. The board gave both of you this case because we thought we can trust you both on this but still you haven’t figured out a thing” Commissioner replied and my anger was already boiling up.

“Sir, this is not a mere case where we can close our eyes and settle and it’s not even up to two weeks” I said.

“ And we’re trying our best” Eva added.

“But your best is not the best. Calculate how many people have been murdered within this few week but you guys have done nothing about it “He yelled.

“ And what else do you want us to do about it?” I flared up.

“ Stop giving excuses and just accept that the both of you are not capable for this job” He snapped.

“ Oh really? We, the F. B. I have been on this case for decades now but nothing came out and now you want Xavier and I to handle it within just a week?” Eva seethed.

“I’m sorry Xavier but I have to suspend the both of you from this case” Commissioner said and I became dumbstruck.

Wait a minute.

Did I just hear suspend?

“On a serious note you can’t do that Sir” Eva said clenching her fist together.

“I’ve already done that and the board is in support of it” Commissioner replied looking away.

Anger ran through me and I was already boiling.

“How could you Sir?” I flared up, hitting my hand hard on the table.

“It’s already done Xavier, you can leave” He replied with no remorse, pointing at the door.

Eva banged the table making him flinch back a bit

She was angry but not as I am right now. I feel like killing this man myself.

“Bet me Sir, you’ll regret this. You’re gonna figure out that nobody is capable of handling this case like Xavier and I and you’re gonna come looking for us” Eva said before storming out.

I sent the foolish man a hard glare before storming out.

Right now I’m gonna loose it if I don’t calm down.

I can’t believe that I, Xavier Giovanni, was suspended from a case which I barely handled for a month, all because of that stupid assassin.

I can’t believe she won. She fucking won against me and now I’m the looser.

“Xavier, are you okay?” Eva asked but I just ignored her and headed outside.

I ignored all her calls because I don’t want to unleash all my anger on her.

I entered my car and drove off.

I got to a bar because right now all I need is alcohol. I don’t drink alcohol that much but right now, I needed it badly.

I ordered for two vodka and gulped both of them down at once.

When the thought of me being suspended ran through my head again, I became enraged and order for another two bottles.

“Mom, they suspended me from a case even before I started,why?”I mumbled lowly to myself.

That was when I realized something; I’m a looser. A fucking damn looser. And I’ve ended up embarrassing myself.

“I am a looser” I mumbled and gulped down yet another two bottles.

I ordered for more and was gulping all of them down.

“Sir don’t you think you’ve taken enough already?” The lady at the counter asked and I sent her a deadly glare.

“And how is that your damn fucking business” I yelled and she flinched

She brought out another bottle and I snatched it from her gulping it down.

ALEXA’S POV

I guess now is the right time to celebrate. I should probably be jumping up and down the bed, having a good shot of cold and chilled drink because Xavier have been suspended from the case.

At least killing him now won’t be a problem and I don’t have to put on an act anyone.

But seriously, deep down some part of me wasn’t happy….not even a bit.

And somehow, I’m worried about Xavier because ever since he left the headquarters, I haven’t seen him.

I was trying to get myself to sleep but I couldn’t, all because Xavier isn’t back yet.

But where the heck is he? It’s 11:30pm for crying out loud.

But wait.

Why am I even worried about him?

Is not like I give a fuck about what happens to him.

He can go to hell for all I care.

But still, I can’t stop thinking about him.

“Arrrghh” I groan in anger.

My head was already pounding, like someone is hitting a war hammer on it.

I went downstairs to get myself some water, maybe that will calm the headache down, after that I’ll go look for Xavier.

I brought out a chilled bottle water from the fridge and gulped it down.

Jeez.

I’ve never been this worried about someone my whole life.

The door bell ranged twice and I knew it was Xavier.

I swear if I open that door, I’m going to give him a piece of my mind.

“Where the he…….” I said opening the door but I couldn’t finish when Xavier fell inside.

I held him to avoid him from falling to the ground.

Fuck!

He smells horrible. Have he been drinking?

“Hey,let go of me” He snapped.

“Xavier, have you been drinking?” I asked.

“ Yep and so what?” He snapped and was about moving but slumped and fell to the couch.

“You know too well that you can’t handle too much alcohol, so why did you get yourself drunk? “I asked holding his hand but he jerked it off.

“Because it was the only thing that understand how I feel now” He replied (drunkenly)

“ And do you know how I feel now?” He asked.

“ I feel like a looser cause I am a looser” He added and I stared at him, surprised.

“What do you mean, Xavier?” I asked and he let out a painful scoff.

“All my life, I’ve never been suspended from a case but what happened today?” He asked.

“ I was sent on a simple mission but I couldn’t even handle it and that’s because…

“I’m a looser” He said but it came out as a wimp because he was already sobbing.

Tears were already falling freely from his eyes and he kept on muttering to himself.

“Xavier” I called but he just stood up.

“ What are you still doing with a looser like me Eva, you should probably leave” He mumbled.

“ Now I understand why my mom left me, because I’m a looser” He added and started sobbing again.

When I couldn’t bear his irritating sobbing any longer, I pulled him closer and crashed my lips on his.

I seriously don’t know why but that was the only way to keep him shut.

He wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer.

We were already kissing like our lives depend on it when I quickly pulled out.

What on earth were you thinking?

Xavier held my hand, staring into my eyes.

“Xavier this should……..” I wasn’t even through when he pulled me closer, shutting me up with a kiss.

I wrapped my hands around his neck to enjoy it the more.

He bit my lips, making me moan in pleasure, and I let his tongue have his way into my mouth.

His hands were already roaming round my body.

The kiss became intense but I couldn’t stop it.

He went for my shirt and started unbuttoning it, but I quickly pushed him away.

“Xavier I need to take you to your room, you’re drunk” I said, grabbing his hand.

After much struggling, I finally got to his room and laid him down.

For once I thought he was asleep but I was wrong because when I was about leaving, he grabbed my hand.

“Please don’t leave me Eva, please” He muttered.

“ Promise me that you won’t ever leave me, Eva” He pleaded and I was shocked.

How on earth can I promise him that?

And one thing with me is that, if I make a promise, I make sure I fulfill it but even God knows I can’t fulfill this particular promise .

“Promise me” He said again snapping me out from my thoughts.

Gosh.

I’ve never seen Xavier this way before.

He looks so weak and vulnerable, which is the best time to kill him but too bad, it’s not yet time to kill him.

“I promise, I won’t leave you” I finally let the word roll of my tongue and it felt like I just spitted out a disease.

“Can you sleep besides me Eva?” He asked and I nodded.

Not that I wanted to, but it the only way to make him fall asleep. I crawled to bed and he quickly pulled me to himself, wrapping his hands around my waist.

I could feel my heart pounding faster than usual.

Everything going on right now is wrong.

I shouldn’t feel any form of pity for him and I shouldn’t be this close to him.

But what’s happening?

NEXT MORNING.

XAVIERS POV

I opened my eyes and a sharp pain ran through my head, making me groan in pain.

Fuck!

How many bottles of vodka did I drink yesterday?

I quickly grabbed the glass of water besides the bed and gulped it down.

I rubbed my temple gently to try make the headache die down.

Flashback of what happened yesterday came rolling.

I smiled formed on my lips as I remembered how Eva and I kissed like our lives depend on it.

I touched my lips and could still feel her lips on mine. I felt a hard knot on my stomach.

I never knew she cared this much.

I looked up and saw her standing before me and she flashed me a smile.

Wait. Am I hallucinating again?

“How are you doing, Xavier” She asked and squatted.

“ I’m feeling better” I replied staring her.

She brought her face closer and was about kissing me when;

“Xavier, someone is here to see you” A voice from no where yelled.

I opened my eyes and didn’t see Eva.

Where did she go? And who has that voice?

“Xavier!!!!!” The voice yelled again and that was when I realized it was Eva’s.

Fuck!

I jerked up from the bed and quickly ran downstairs.

And when I saw Eva ,she was already boiling in anger.

Oopsy.

“Someone is here to see you,moron” She snapped.

“ Who?” I asked.

“ Hi Xavier, excited to see me?” A voice echoed and I turned.

I froze instantly upon seeing the last person I expected to see here on earth.
