JACE’S POV

After I was done buying some stuffs from the supermarket, so I headed home.

I started having this wired feeling that someone was behind me but whenever I turn, I end up seeing no one.

I decided to take another route.

I felt a shadow behind me and turned again but still, no one. When I turned back again, I saw a gun pointed right in front of me. Xavier appeared immediately with a smirk plastered on his face.

“Remember me?” He smirked.

And the last thing I remember was being knocked out by Xavier.

I slowly opened my eyes. Looking around I couldn’t recognize where I was.

Where am I?

I tried moving but I couldn’t. And that was when I realized I’ve been tied to a chair. Looking up I saw Xavier with a lady. I looked around, searching for Alexa but didn’t see her.

“So, we finally met again” Xavier said with a smirk, making me scoff.

“I guess so” I replied.

“And I’m sure you’re aware of why you’re here” Xavier said sternly but too bad those don’t scare me.

“You’ve already done this before but I told you nothing and I’m still not saying anything” I replied plainly

“ Well I guess then isn’t now” He grinned.

“What more can you do,huh?Torture me? Cut off one of my fingers like before? “I asked with a scoff.

“ Those ain’t gonna scare me Xavier” I added.

“ I ain’t doing any of that. I just wanted to inform you that I now know every member of your crew” He replied which cut me off guard.

“ Starting from Veera, Sophia and last but not the least my sworn enemy” He added and shock ran through me.

How on earth did he figure this out? Does he know that Alexa is Eva?

“And I know you can’t bear seeing her in pain because you have feelings for her, so if I were you, I’ll speak up” He said and I almost choked.

Who the fuck told him I have feelings for Alexa? Is he trying to play a trick on me?

I stared at him trying to read his facial expression because there’s one thing I know for sure; Alexa can never be captured.

Everywhere was dead silent but I broke the silence when I started laughing hectically. I was laughing so hard that tears almost fell from my eyes.

“Did you seriously think I would fall for that?” I asked still laughing.

I could sense the irritation in Xavier’s eyes.

“ Then you must be so stupid Xavier” I added and he sent me a punch, hard enough for blood to roll down from my lips.

Well too bad his punch is nothing compared to Alexa’s. He grabbed my neck, trying to strangle me.

“You scandal” He growled tightening his grip, making it difficult for me to breath.

“Xavier calm down, there is no point talking to him, he won’t speak up” The lady with him tried stopping him and he released his grip.

I exhaled deeply and started laughing again.

“Bye Xavier” I waved as he stormed out.

Fools!!!

ALEXA’S POV (EVA)

After the call from Boss, I couldn’t calm down. I mean, why should I when Jace have been caught, again. I seriously can’t believe Xavier went on a mission without informing me.

He has never done this before and I’m sure he did it again because of that stupid best friend of his. I think she’s gonna be a pain in my ass. But she better not make me add her to my target.

I headed downstairs and saw the both of them walking in. Anger ran through me immediately.

“So you’re back.” I snorted and Xavier looked up.

“ Eva! “He called, approaching closer.

“Where went you?” I asked trying hard to control my burning anger.

“We went to handle some stuff about the assassin” He replied.

“ We?” I scoffed.

“Who are these we? Cause as far as I can remember, you didn’t inform me about anything” I asked, my voice already rising.

“ Eva calm down” He said and I sent him a glare.

“ I should calm down huh?”I scoffed the more.

“Maybe you’ve forgotten that I am your partner in this case and not Michaela, so I have every right to know what you’re up to” I half yelled.

“ I know but….”

“ Cut that crap Xavier” I snapped.

“ Anyway, I shouldn’t be surprised. She’s your best friend anyway and I’m nothing more than an annoying F.B. I partner, aren’t I?” I remarked.

“ That’s not true” He replied and I snorted.

“Then tell me the truth. Who am I to you?” I asked staring into his golden eyes.

“Michaela is nothing more than a friend but as for you…….”He said and stopped.

“ Listen Eva, both of you are important to me okay and I didn’t mean not to tell you. You were busy with something. I didn’t want to bother you” He added and I felt a knot on my stomach.

Fuck!

Why does staring into his eyes have this much effect on me? I quickly looked away because if I continue staring into his eyes, I might end up kissing him.

“Whatever” I hissed and headed to the kitchen.

“Wow. Great acting Alexa, great acting” My subconscious praised and a smirk formed on my lips.

I just wanted to know if I’ve gained Xavier’s trust and indeed I have. Getting him won’t be that hard.

I dished out some food for Sophia and Alecia and left.

It’s already late at night so I better go give them something to eat.

On my way I bumped into Michaela.

I walked pass her. Not like I have time for her.

I made to move but she grabbed my wrist, with a stern look.

I sent her a deadly glare, making her flinch back in fear.

I grabbed her neck and pinned her to the wall with force, making her wince in pain.

“Maybe Xavier haven’t told you that you don’t dare grab my wrist that way” I said tightening my grip on her neck.

She tried pushing me off but couldn’t.

I released my grip and she slumped to the ground immediately, coughing.

I continued with my journey.

When I got to where Alecia was tied up, I landed a slap on her face making her jerk up. I passed her food and headed to the other end of the room where Sophia was tied up.

When I got there, I didn’t see her.

Where is she?

Looking around I saw the rope I tied her up with lying on the floor and the window open.

That was when I realized something.

Fuck!!

Sophia has ESCAPED……..
