MICHAELA’S POV

I quickly changed the topic because I was already getting irritated talking about the so called Eva.

“So Xavier, how far have you gone with the case ?”I asked and his mood dropped instantly.

“I’ve been suspended from the case” He muttered.

“ Wait, what!!”I exclaimed in shock.

“Why?” I couldn’t help but ask.

“The commissioner said Eva and I are not capable enough, so there it goes” He replied swinging his hands up in the air.

How can the commissioner say such a thing?

The Xavier I know is among the top best F.B.I in the whole of America and no case is impossible for him to handle.

“Is that man crazy or what?” I asked as I could feel my anger already boiling.

“ Maybe” He replied with a scoff.

“Can you tell me how far you’ve gone with the case?” I asked.

“ That’s not necessarily, I’m suspended already ”He replied.

“ I know but I still want to know about it” I insisted.

“ Fine, I’ll tell you then” Xavier shrugged.

He told me everything about the case, how far they’ve gone and I couldn’t help but stare in awe because of how smart the so called assassin is.

Indeed finding her will be really tough.

And idea popped into my head immediately.

“Have you searched the Vice presidents office?” I asked.

“ Yep, still didn’t find anything interesting” He replied.

“ Then let’s do that again, maybe this time around, we might find something” I suggested.

“ Is that necessary?” Xavier grunted.

“Yeah it is” I replied.

“But what’s the point anyway, I’ve been suspended” He groaned.

“ Then prove to them that they made a mistake by doing so. Show them how capable you’re, besides the Xavier I know doesn’t give up that easily” I gingered and I could see the beam of happiness on his face.

“You’re right Michaela, I should probably go tell Eva about “He said and anger ran through me.

Must he involve her?

“ No, that’s not necessary” I replied sharply.

“ Why?” He asked with a frown.

“What I mean is that there’s no time for that, I can actually help you with it. Then maybe later, you can inform her about it” I replied and he nodded.

“ Okay, I’ll go change then” He replied and left.

I heaved out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness Eva is not coming with us. I don’t want her to ruin my moment with Xavier.

I can actually use this opportunity to prove to Xavier that I’m way better than Eva and at the same time get closer to him.

AT THE VICE PRESIDENTS OFFICE

We already ran sacked the whole office but still didn’t find anything that could lead us to our enemy.

All we could find was bunches of useless documents scattered everywhere.

“I told you Michaela, there’s nothing here” Xavier said, making me sigh.

“ I guess you’re right Xavier, I’m already exhausted” I replied.

“ Let’s just go home” I added, keeping the last document on the table.

I turned to leave but mistakenly stumbled on something.

“Fuck!”I groaned in pain.

“Are you okay?” Xavier asked rushing towards me.

“ Yeah I’m fine, just stumbled on something” I replied.

I squatted immediately to see what I stumbled on.

“Xavier, look” I said bringing out a box I saw.

“ What’s that?” Xavier asked.

“I don’t know” I replied and placed the box on the table.

I opened the box and found nothing else but documents.

I felt enraged and deep down I wanted to burn down this whole building, but then I saw a chip. I showed the chip to Xavier and he collected it immediately.

“I think we might find something useful in this chip” Xavier said and I nodded.

We went to the next office in the building and inserted the chip in one of the computers we found there. Xavier was already scrolling up the whole information when my eyes landed on something.

“Wait Xavier. Erm…go back a little bit” I said and he did so.

We saw different message content sent to some unknown numbers. We clicked on one of the message and it reads;

“I’ve already drugged the whole guards in the presidents mansion. Use the card I gave you to enter his room”

“I want him dead tonight. I’ll be expecting to hear the news tomorrow”… and so on.

“ I think this message was sent to the assassin” I said.

“ Of course it was sent to her but there are more than 4 different messages sent to 4 different numbers, so who are the other three people?” Xavier questioned.

“ Let’s take this to the SMS center, they can help us track down this numbers” Xavier added and I smiled.

He’s extremely smart and that’s one of the reasons I love him.

XAVIER’S POV

We were already at the SMS center and headed to the office of Mr. Max. He is one person I know that can help me with this.

“Wow, Xavier!” He exclaimed immediately we entered his office.

“Mr. Max” I greeted with a handshake.

“How have been Agent?” He asked.

“Pretty ok ,as you can see” I replied and he let out a chuckle.

“ Of course I can see that” He replied.

“So what brings you here?” He asked.

“I need you to help me track down the numbers in this chip” I replied, placing the chip in front of him.

He took the chip and slotted it into his computer.

He face dropped immediately he saw the content.

“Is anything wrong?” I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

“No, no, no. Of course not” He replied with a smile but it looked fake to me.

“Excuse me Xavier, I have some important call to make right now, I’ll be right back” He said and hurriedly left.

Wired!

MAX’S POV

I quickly headed outside and brought out my phone.

I need to inform Boss about this. Just to clear your confusion, I work for Lucas (Boss). So which means I work with Alexa and her crew.

I know all of them except for Alexa. I haven’t even seen her face before the same way I haven’t seen Lucas before.

I dialed Boss’ number and he picked up.

“What’s with the call Max,is everything okay?” Boss usual deep echoed to my ear.

“ Everything is not okay Boss”I replied.

“ Stop wasting my time and tell me what’s wrong” Boss snapped impatiently.

“ Xavier came today with some messages indicating Alexa’s dealing with the vice………….

I wasn’t even through when someone snatched my phone from me. I slowly turned and saw Xavier with the lady he came with. He pointed a gun at me and signaled me to keep shut.

He placed the phone on his ear but I guess Boss already ended the call.

“So you’re among them huh?” The lady asked and I swallowed hard.

Oh God, save me!!!

XAVIER’S POV

I could see the shock written on Mr. Max’s face after seeing Michaela and I. So all my doubts were right. No wonder he was acting strange inside.

But I’m disappointed in him. Of all people I suspected, he wasn’t even among them.

“So you’re among them, huh?” Michaela asked with folded arms.

“ I…. don’t… know what… you’re.. talking about” He stammered, making me scoff.

“ Oh really? Well let’s see about that” I said and gestured him to move with the gun.

“Move!” I commanded and he nodded immediately.

When we got to his office, I knocked him down to his office seat. Michaela brought another seat and I positioned it in front of him. I sat down and pointed the gun at him.

“Speak up!” I demanded but he tried acting cool.

“ I don’t know what you’re talking about Xavier, why are you pointing a gun at me? “He asked and I was already running out of patience.

“Listen!!” I snapped.

“I don’t have all the time in the world, so you better speak up or I’ll do it the hard way” I threatened but he kept mute. I sent him a hard punch.

“Speak up or I won’t hesitate to blow off those fucking head of yours, you asshole”I yelled making him flinch back in fear and started shivering.

“I’ll speak up, please don’t shot me” He pleaded.

“ Good. Now I need you to answer each and every question I ask you truthfully, starting with; who is this Boss you were talking to over the phone.” I asked.

“ Please believe me when I say I don’t know him that much. All I know is that he is called Boss. I haven’t even seen his face before, please believe me” He replied shivering.

“ Who introduced you to him?” I asked.

“Jace” He replied and my mind went back to the Jace we once captured.

“Well since you work for the so called Boss, then you must have known who those messages were sent to, so spill it out” I demanded and he nodded in fear.

“ I’ll tell you all I know about them” He quivered.

“There are 4 of them;1 male,3 female. The one I’m closest to is Jace” He began.

“ You mean, Jace Peyton?” I asked and he nodded.

“ Okay, continue” I replied.

“One goes by the name Veera Santiago and then Sophia….

“Wait, Sophia who?” I cut him off.

“Sophia Carsiolo” He replied.

Fuck!

So the Sophia Eva and I captured, actually works with the assassin. But why one earth did she have to lie to us?

“And the last person?” I asked with keen interest.

“ I don’t know much about her. All I know is that her name is Ale……….

A bullet came out of nowhere and pierced through Mr. Max’s back head, making it flew out from his forehead.

I dodged it immediately and it crashed to the wall.

What the fuck!!

I looked up and saw Mr. Max lying lifeless on the floor. My eyes landed on the window of his office and it was broken.

I jerked up immediately and headed to the window but didn’t see anybody.

“He’s dead Xavier” Michaela said and I turned.

“ Damn it” I cursed.

We were almost close to finding out the truth.

“At least, we figured out something very useful, Xavier” Michaela said.

“ Yeah, you’re right. At least with this information, I’ll be able to track down all of them gradually” I replied with a satisfactory smirk.

AT THE HEADQUARTERS

I instructed Liam to help me track them down and he’s on it already.

“Veera Santiago is not here in Orlando, her last movement was found in Hawaii, so I think that’s where she is now but as for Jace, he’s still in Orlando” Liam disclosed.

“ Okay, call the crew and tell them to enroll Jace’ face as wanted in all the face recognition cameras in the whole street of Orlando. In the mean time, let me call our crew in Hawaii to help us with Veera” I said.

“ Okay” Liam replied.

“ But what about Sophia?” Michaela asked.

“ I already have her in my custody” I replied.

“ Okay, I’ll be right back” Michaela said and left.

I quickly informed the headquarters in Hawaii about Veera and sent them all the information they’ll need.

After, I took the number of the so called Boss from Mr. Max’s phone and tried tracking down the location but I couldn’t because the number doesn’t exist anymore. I guess he already destroyed and wiped out all the information about the number.

Michaela came back later and offered us some cups of coffee which I gladly accepted cause I really needed it.

“Thanks” I muttered.

“Erm.. Xavier” Liam called and I turned to him.

“ Where is Eva?” He asked and I almost choked.

Fuck!

I totally forgot informing Eva about everything and I haven’t even called her.

“She’s at home, so?” Michaela replied.

“I asked Xavier not you,Miss”Liam snapped with a hiss.

Oh! Did I forget to tell you guys?

Michaela and Liam are kind of sworn enemies.

“Calm down Liam, Michaela is right” I said so they can stop sending daggers to each other.

“Why will you leave her at home, she’s your partner” Liam asked.

“ I know but due to some circumstances” I replied.

“ Which is?” Liam asked.

“ Let’s talk about this later” I replied and he sighed before turning back to what he was doing.

ALEXA’S POV

I’ve been in my room for some time now going through information about my next target. I quickly checked the time and jerked up from the bed immediately.

Fuck!

It’s already 06:30pm.

For how long have I been inside?

I quickly crawled down from my bed and headed to Xavier’s room to check on him but he wasn’t there. I checked Michaela’ room and it was locked. I went downstairs but still didn’t find them.

I’m sure they most have gone to spend sometime together.

Whatever.

My phone ranged and I answered after checking the caller ID.

“Boss” I answered.

“Eva where are you?” He half yelled.

“ I’m at home, is there a problem?” I asked.

“ Jace have been caught, again “He replied.

What!!!!!!
