XAVIER’S POV

“Xavier!” Michaela exclaimed running towards me and jumped on me in a hug.

“Jeez Xavier, how have you been all this while?” She asked, pulling out from the hug.

“ You never told me you were back” I managed to say, cause I wasn’t expecting her.

“Com’on. Is that how you welcome your best friend after all this years? “She blurted with a frown.

“ Aren’t you happy to see me?” She asked.

“ Of course not Michaela, I’m so happy to see you. I guess the joy rendered me speechless” I replied.

“ Well, that’s my surprise for you” She beamed happily and I smiled.

“ I guess you got me then” I chuckled, making her laugh.

“ You’re welcomed” I said, helping her with her luggage.

“ Wow, so many things have changed here” She muttered, looking around.

“ You have a sit, I’ll get you something to drink” I offered and she nodded.

I headed to the fridge in the kitchen and brought out an orange juice and went back.

I poured some amount into the cup and handed it to her.

“Thanks” She muttered and I sat down.

“So tell me, how was China?” I asked, evoking a conversation.

“It’s an amazing place. People there and extremely nice and friendly” She cheered.

“ That’s good. And what about the case you went to handle over there? “I asked.

Actually Michaela is a C. I. A and she went to China to handle a case.

“Case solved, wasn’t that hard” She replied with a shrug.

“ So how have you been? I heard that you are handling a case about the assassin” She asked and my mood dropped instantly.

“I guess not anymore” I muttered, faking a smile.

“ What do you mean?” She asked.

“You just arrived Michaela, you should probably get some rest, we’ll talk about it later” I replied, changing the topic and got a nod from her.

“ I’ll take you to your room then” I said standing up.

I took her to one of the rooms upstairs.

“You can call me if you need anything” I said.

“ Ok. Thanks anyway “She replied.

“ Sure” I said and left.

I headed to Eva’s room because I wanted to thank her for last night.

I knocked on her door twice but didn’t get any response, so I decided to enter since the door was open.

When I stepped in, I didn’t see her.

Roaming my eyes around the room, she was no where to be found.

I shrugged and turned to leave when…

“Who gave you the permission to enter my room?” A voice said and my heart almost bursted out.

Jeez!

I turned immediately and my eyes landed on Eva’s body.

She was tying a towel around her chest, which stopped half way her laps making those sexy legs of hers visible.

Her body looks so smooth, not even a single blemish visible.

I looked up to her face and my eyes landed on her deep blue eyes. They looked more captivating than before and was glittering.

The smoothness of her face makes me want to stretch out my hand and touch so that I could feel its softness.

My eyes landed on her wide hips and I swallowed hard not knowing what to do because I couldn’t look away.

I could feel my heart pounding faster than usual and it was as if I was running out of oxygen.

Nervousness came kicking and hot sweat ran through me.

“Get out, Xavier” She yelled, snapping me out from my dream land.

“Oh, sorry” I blurted out like a moron and turned immediately.

I held my chest because my heart was beating like it was gonna burst.

I exhaled deeply, trying to calm my nerves down.

“What are you doing here?” She asked.

“Erm. Can I turn now?” I shuttered.

“Yeah” She replied and I turned.

I heaved out a sigh of relief because she was now putting on a robe.

But anyway it’s done, she’s damn hot.

She snapped her finger in front of me, bringing me back to my senses.

“Oh…ermm..i.. ermm..” I starmmered, because I’ve forgotten what I even came to do.

Quit stammering fool!

“I came to thank you for last night” I finally said.

Thank goodness. Would have been embarrassing shuttering in front of her.

“ Are you done?” She asked and I nodded.

“ Good. Now get out, I need to change” She snapped.

Okay. That’s rude.

I was already walking over to the door when her voice stopped me.

“Are you going to the headquarters today?” She asked and I turned.

“ Nope. Why should I?”I drawled with a frown and she rolled her eyes.

“ You’ve been suspended from a case doesn’t mean you’re no longer an agent, so stop acting like a chicken” She hissed.

Well. She’s kinda right. I should stop acting like a chicken and man up.

“Fine, I’ll go. Happy now?” I asked.

“I’ll only be happy once you get out of my room” She replied, making me let out a chuckle.

Eva is kinda funny.

This minute she acts like she cares, the other minute she acts like she hates you with passion.

But anyhow she does her thing…I love it.

MICHAELA’S POV

I quickly went downstairs after freshening up.

I want to spend more time with Xavier since I’m already back.

Its been a long time though.

I met him sitting at the couch, devouring some chips, his eyes fixed on the television.

My heart skipped immediately.

He looks more handsome and breathtaking.

Just in case you know, I’ve always had a crush on Xavier since we were kids but he prefers me as a friend.

But I know that one day he’ll be able to love me the same way I do and I can do absolutely anything to get him to love me.

“Hey” I said, grabbing the bowl of chips from him.

“Hey that’s rude” He said pouting.

I could feel a hard knot on my stomach.

“Wouldn’t mind sharing, you know” I said, trying to act cool.

I decided to ask him about the lady that opened the door for me.

Is she a house help or what?

Well, the truth of the matter is that I couldn’t help but feel jealous of her. She’s extremely beautiful and sexy. I bet any man will fall for her at first sight.

“Erm.. Xavier, I want to ask you something?” I said.

“ Sure, go ahead” He replied.

“That lady that opened the door for me, who is she?” I asked and a smile formed on Xavier’s lips immediately.

“You mean Eva. Well she’s my partner in handling the case of the assassin” He replied.

“ Can you tell me about her?” I asked already extra jealous of her.

“Well, she’s the type that you really can’t explain. This minute she’s in a good mood, the other minute her mood will just change” Xavier started.

“ She’s extremely bossy but hate been bossed around. She’s sassy and nags a lot but I guess I’m already used to it”

“ She’s mean and tough but she’s also caring” Xavier explained and let out a slight laugh.

I can’t believe talking about her makes him this happy.

“Oh and she’s extremely beautiful, you know that” He added and I faked a smile.

“ Hey, but mind you, she’s bipolar, so don’t try to get on her nerves” He added and I almost hissed.

I already hate her.

The fact that talking about her makes Xavier this happy made me hate her.

It’s obvious Xavier is already falling for her but I’m not gonna let that happen.

I am the only person Xavier should love and I won’t even think twice before wiping out of existence anyone who try to come between us.

And that’s what am I gonna do to Eva ,so she better get ready for me……………..
