I snapped awake, my name echoing in the darkness. I scanned the room, my heart hammering. Kane lunged to his feet instantly. “What is it, Nadia?”

No matter where I looked, I couldn't spot a thing. I let out a shaky breath and met his gaze. “Something has been watching us all night,” I whispered.

Kane pulled me flush against his chest. “I’ve got you.”

Derek snorted, pacing the doorway. “This tomb has felt haunted since we set foot in it.”

Mother sat cross-legged beside the mirror. The silver glow cast sharp shadows across her face. “This entire castle is soaked in dark magic. Keep your eyes peeled.”...
