Nadia’s POV:
Lyra’s chest heaved. She stared up at me, pain and disbelief swimming in her gaze.
“No,” she choked out, spitting blood. “You can’t kill me.”
Her voice cracked, but venom still dripped from the words. Even beaten down and knocking on death's door, she carried an arrogant air. She still thought she ruled the world.
I chuckled, hovering my claws over her heart. The glow beneath my skin had dimmed, but it still sent chills down Lyra’s spine.
That was exactly why she glared at me with such fear.
Just as I prepared to sink my claws into her flesh—
“Enough.”
A raspy voice echoed across the battlefield....
