“Alpha... I don’t understand,” the doctor stammered. “What happened to her?”

I stood at the edge of the cot, my eyes locked on Nadia’s still form. Her skin was drained of color, and her breathing was shallow.

“She was poisoned,” I hissed, rounding on the doctor. “You're the expert. Fix her.”

The doctor swallowed hard. His hands hovered over her body, too afraid to actually touch her.

“I’ve treated Alphas and Betas,” he stammered, his voice shaking. “But this is different. I have seen hundreds of poisons, but never anything like this.”

“I don’t care,” I stated flatly. “Fix her.”
