I dropped my bag on the couch and went inside the kitchen to grab a juice after I gulped down the entire content, I went up to my room and showered

I wore a singlet and pleated skirt after I was done then I went downstairs deciding that there was still time, I switched on the TV and watched what was showing on fashion sector. I've always loved fashion and I even have my own sketch pad, mum's aware and she promised to support me in whatever that makes me happy.

After the show was over, I took my bag and went to the garden. I was welcomed by the scent of flowers lingering in the air and the cool evening breeze, I sat on the bench, brought out my books and started my assignments

It took me time to finish so when I was done I plugged in my headset, placed them on my ear and supported my head with my bag. As I relaxed and vibed to my music, sleep eluded me.

I woke up late in the evening then I sluggishly made my way inside, by the time I got inside my mum was already back from work

"Kira, where the fuck have you been" she questioned worriedly

"Language mom" I said rolling my eyes

"Sorry, I was so worried about you. I got back from work and didn't find you inside, I was so tensed. Where were you?"

" I was in the garden relaxing"

" Gosshhh, be sure to leave a note next time" she said hugging me

" You're such a drama queen mom, I'm no longer a kid"

" To others you ain't a kid but to me you'd always be my baby" she said

I rolled my eyes at her statement and followed her to the kitchen

She grabbed two cereal bowls and poured cereals and milk into it then she passed me mine while we sat down to eat

"So how was school today and who brought you home"

"My friend did and school went well"I said and took time to explain everything to her omitting the bullying part

"I knew you'd fit right in, I'm so happy for you honey" she said

" And you, how was your first day at work"

" It was tedious but worth the stress baby, I made friends at work and everyone was welcoming" she explained

By the time she finished I was already done with my meal so I stood up and dropped my bowl in the sink then I went upstairs

"Hey Avery, wassup", I hugged and greeted

"M fine and hope you weren't annoyed with your mum when she got back home" she asked

"Nope" I said popping the "p"

As we were chatting and talking, that bitch who approached me yesterday walked up to us looking puzzled

"Avery, what the heck are you doing with this loser" she pointed at me with a disgusted look on her face

Before I could sense what was happening, a loud resounding slap echoed in the hallway causing everyone to stare at the unfolding drama

"Don't you dare spit out nonsense about my friend and you mentioned her being a loser but guess what, you are a bigger loser" she said with a smug smile on her face

As the girl tried to slap Avery, Aiden walked up to us and gave the girl a murderous look that made her cringe back in fear

"Ohhh Aiden" she tried to move closer to him while she faked a tear

"Don't you dare" he said before she could even touch him

"Who do you think you are? You wanna slap my sister? Fine then, go ahead and slap her" he said with a daring look in his face

"But she's the one I had business with before your sister butt in" she said pouting

" Just shut the fuck up Cassie, I'm not cut out for this pity face of yours", he said and walked away not before giving me a crazy look

The girl whose name was Cassie stared daggers at me before walking away with her minions

I hugged Avery and thanked her but she brushed it off saying "What are friends for"

We had the same class this morning so we walked down to class together

"You really shouldn't let Cassie bully you unnecessarily" Avery said

" Yes ma'am and you're dropping me at home today, everyday till I decide to start driving mine" I said

" Yes your highness" she did a meek bow and I laughed

The teacher came in and started immediately. I already read about the topic he was teaching so I was barely attentive in class

I thought I was the only unattentive student until I saw Avery chatting away on her phone and smiling like an idiot

I nudged her making her look up at me

"Who's making you blush like this" I said trying to peek into her phone

"Really Anderson, focus on what the teacher's saying" she said hiding her phone

Finally, the class came to an end and we had gym next. I was so happy that I hurriedly went to the ladies changing room. Unaware of what was in store for me, I changed my clothes and was walking outside when I felt cold liquid pour on my body and I was totally drenched

I looked up and saw Cassie giving her minions a high five while the students were laughing at me. I felt all kinds of emotions build up inside of me but I couldn't do anything because I was cold and shivering badly

No one made an attempt to help me so I was left there helpless soon everyone began to leave not bothering about me. I stayed there for what seems like eternity until I felt someone cover me with his jacket, he carried me up and took me to the nurse

I was treated and given some drugs, I was trying to see who it was that helped me but I soon felt dizzy and slept off. I woke up hours later and found two different eyes staring at me

I sneezed then blinked my eyes before everything became clear

"Oh my God, Kira are you alright" Avery was the first person to talk

" What do you expect" I said giving her a smile

" I was so scared when I heard about what happened to you" she said hugging me

I looked at the second person who was a guy, he looked so handsome with his perfectly outlined chiseled like jaw and light brown eyes. He smiled at me when he saw me looking at me, walked closer and checked my temperature placing the back of his hand on my forehead

"Your temperature has reduced" he said

"Thanks for helping me but how come you knew I was there" I asked

" Well I'm a new student, I was confused and didn't know my way around so I saw you on the floor shivering" he explained

"My name is Jayden Carter"

"It's nice to meet you and this is my best friend Avery"

" It's nice to meet you girls and would you mind if I join the squad because I don't know anyone here" he said smiling revealing his dentitions

"You are more than welcome to join" Avery and I said smiling

The nurse came back and discharged me but my clothes were wet and I didn't have extra clothes. Seeing my distraught state, Jayden offered me his hoodie so I excused myself and went to wear it and it stopped right above my knees so we all went to the cafeteria.

Recess was over and we were the only one present making the cafeteria serene and calm. We ordered the same thing; bagel and coffee, we talked and laughed occasionally. Jayden is a funny guy and we enjoyed his company

"So what made u moved down from San Francisco to this place" I asked

" Well dad got transferred and we had no option but to move" he explained

" And would you believe me when I say Kira's also staying at San Francisco before relocating" Avery added earning a glare from me

"Really and why didn't you mention it" Jayden questioned

"I didn't think it was necessary but anyways I'm sorry" I said smiling at him

" So which school did you attend" he asked

" Campbell's high school and you?"

"Lakeview high" he replied

We continued to talk about interesting places about San Francisco suddenly making Avery feel left out

When she couldn't take it anymore, she cleared her throat and shot both of us mean stares

"I really shouldn't have told you she's from your place" she said

"You both practically ignored my freaking damn existence"

"Your Majesty, we are really sorry" Jayden and I said bowing our heads

She stood up and playfully punched both of us then we went out of the cafeteria

I had no class again for the day likewise Jayden but Avery had one class left but decided to skip it and we all drove out of the school compound to enjoy ourselves before heading back home
