For the first time ever since I started this school, I was bored. Most of the classes I took this morning, I didn't pay attention.

As I was thinking about what to do to wile away time, a message popped up on my phone screen. I opened it and saw it was from Avery, she was bored just like I am and decided we skip school today

I couldn't be more grateful and texted her back saying I was in. It was as if mother nature was doing things in my favour, my current class ended and I was the first person to scurry out of the classroom door

There I found Avery waiting by her locker

"Hey loser" I said hitting her arm

"You should be a full time wrestler instead of coming to school and learn" she grunted holding her arm

"Drama queen" I muttered rolling my eyes

"And where's Jayden, didn't you text him" I asked her

"Well, who missed me?" I heard his voice as soon as I finished questioning Avery

"So who's ready for some fun time?" Jayden asked placing his arms on our shoulders

"I'm always in for anything fun" I said

"I'm not a killjoy either" Avery remarked making us all burst into laughter

Well, Avery didn't bring her car today because she rode with her brother so we took Jayden's car

We drove to our favorite ice cream spot and on arriving we saw a big poster with the word "Challenge" boldly written on it saying finish a big bowl of ice cream and be given free treat till the year ends

I was so joyous and happy because I love ice cream and luckily for us, the competition was about to start

"I'm definitely doing this" I said smiling broadly

"What??" Jayden and Avery questioned, mouth widened in shock

"You are definitely not planning to disgrace us right now, are you??" Jayden questioned

"I won't be a part of this crazy stunt you are about to do" Avery added

"Wish me luck guys", I told them ignoring their comments then ran off

I got to where everything was set and said I wanted to take part in the competition so I joined and was competing alongside five people making me the sixth person

The ice cream flavour for the competition was strawberry, my favorite and a big bowl was in our front full to the brim with ice cream. We were given 10 minutes to finish it, then the whistle was blown and it started.

"Such a short time" I thought inwardly. Well I'm not backing down anytime soon

I looked around and saw my best friends in the crowd looking at me with expressions I could tell were disappointment. I winked at them, dug into my ice cream and scooped a mouthful inside my mouth earning gasps from the onlookers

"3 minutes more" I heard the timekeeper announce

I looked around and saw one of the contestants done with half of the ice cream, I can't disappoint my friends. Suddenly I felt this feeling of determination build up inside me and I continued scooping the ice cream non-stop inside my mouth

I heard someone in the crowd say "She's gonna choke herself" but I really don't care because I wanna prove my friends wrong and at the same time make them proud

It was barely a minute to the end of the competition when I happily raised my bowl up in the air smiling triumphantly

"I guess we now have a winner" the timekeeper announced smiling at me. Before I knew what was happening, the crowd surrounded me and congratulated me

My friends made their way past the crowd and hugged me

"You made me proud sweetheart" Jayden said acting like an older brother and pecked my cheeks

"My best friend is an ice cream champ" Avery teased and also pecked me

"So all thanks to our ice cream champ we get to take ice creams here for free" Avery said cheering

"This girl's crazy" I thought inwardly laughing

So I collected ice creams for my friends and couldn't take more because I was full

After taking lots of ice cream, we drove to the park and tried all the rides there

The roller coaster ride was more fun because Avery and I were screaming our lungs out throughout the ride

After we had lots of fun, we decided to go home because it was getting dark and Jayden dropped Avery first then my house next

And funny enough, we all lived in the same estate but far from each other. My house was nearer to Jayden's house than to Avery's practically making Jayden's house to be in the middle

I met mom working on her laptop when I entered so she barely noticed me walk in. I walked up to her and pecked her cheeks, she looked up at me and smiled

"How was school honey"

"I had lots of fun"

"I can see that" she said smiling at me

"There's chicken and chips in the microwave if you'd want some" she said

Without further ado, I scurried off to the kitchen while my mum chuckled and my behavior

I took the food out to the dining and wasted no time into devouring the food then I gulped down the orange juice and belched satisfactorily

"I love you mum" I said and went upstairs to my room

Today's Friday and I didn't have much classes today so I got up, put on a blue hoodie and baggy trousers with a face cap to match. I got downstairs and mum had left for work

I sat down to eat my food then I dropped my plates in the kitchen and went to the bus station. The bus arrived just in time and I hopped into it

I arrived at school early and noticed few students talking then I went to my locker, picked my books and closed it

On my way to the classroom, I saw Avery's brother with his friends at a corner talking and laughing

He looked so handsome in his black hoodie and white pants, his smooth brown hair complimented his perfectly sculptured face with full pink lips

Gosh!! I never had time to look at him well during our argument when we first met

"Take a picture, it lasts longer" I heard a voice say to me

I snapped out of my reverie and turned to look at who the intruder was. Yeah, an intruder because he didn't give me enough time to check him out and I found out the intruder was no other person than the guy I was checking out

Oh My God!!! I felt so embarrassed then I looked at him and said

"Who told you I was checking you out"

"No one said anything about checking out now" he replied and made me feel embarrassed again

"Don't you have any other job than to bother me" I said

"And who said I was bothering you, I saw you drooling from a distance and decided to give you an advise" he said smirking

I wish I could wipe off that smirk off this face

"Drooling?? You wish" I scoffed then rolled my eyes

"I don't bite just accept you were" he winked and started to walk away

"In your dreams asshole" I shouted at his retreating figure

I don't know why but I love to get on her nerves ever since our little fight in the church and she's one fiesty girl who wouldn't want to be defeated

I walked up to my friends who were laughing uncontrollably

"Mehn, you really know how to make her go berserk" Mason said

"Have you guys probably met before" Derrick asked

"Yeah, in the church and it isn't a pleasant one at all" I answered

"Hmmm, I see" Derrick said

"See what?" I asked glaring at him

"Man, chill. I was just thinking and it's nothing" Derrick raised his hand more like he was surrending

I just walked away leaving the two idiots behind, they sure know how to ruin my day

I had English class this morning alongside Derrick, I walked alone to class and entered before the teacher came in.

I sat at the back of the girl I was men to in the hallway, Avery's friend but she was oblivious of my presence because she was reading a book so I took it upon myself to disturb her

From where I was sitting, I snatched the book from her making her turn and face me, she was so infuriated that I almost felt intimated by her stares

When she saw it was me, she face palmed herself and shoy me a very hard stares and said

"Don't you ever get tired of frustrating me" she said

"Well since Cassie isn't in school I took it upon myself to take up her role"

Whatever it was she was thinking after I reminded her of Cassie, I don't know but out of the blue she smirked at me and said

"You really think I'm scared of that nitwit"

With that she snatched her book from me and the teacher was already in the class
