Kira woke up to the shining sun's reflection in her room, her vision still hazy and blurry she got up and stretched her body lazily.

She sluggishly dragged herself into the bathroom, switched on the shower and allowed the cold water caress her skin. She got out of the bathroom and started preparing for Sunday mass.

Opening her closet, she selected an off-shoulder flowery gown and heels to match. She sat in front of her exquisite vanity mirror, brushed her long brown hair then packed it in a messy bun.

"Good morning mum", she hugged her mum when she got downstairs

"Good morning sweetheart, hope you had a good night rest?"

" Yeah"

" What's for breakfast", she asked opening the plates

" Macroni and cheese"

We both ate quickly after which we drove down to the only Catholic church in the estate, people were already arriving so my mom found a convenient space to park then we went inside

The church was almost full and we were so lucky to see somewhere to seat while the Reverend already began his sermon and the topic was Patience and love.

"Patience and love work together just the way anger and hatred works together. Being patient can help tackle the hardest of all problems. Never rush into anything in life, never rush to make decisions instead be patient.

Love is another word and has a different meaning but works very well with patience when used wisely. Anger would never work with patience just the way love wouldn't work with hate.

Being patient and loving helps to solve even the most complex issues. May the Lord help us all to be a hearer and doer of his word"

Finally, he concluded the sermon after which we all shared the Grace and service came to an end.

While my mum was busy getting acquainted with people, I excused myself and decided to go out and wait. While I was walking out, I bumped into a hard body causing me to stumble and fall hard on my butts. I was infuriated but I kept my cool practicing today's topic so I looked up to see whoever or whatever it is I bumped into then I saw deep blue orbs frowning at me.

Instead of him to help me up and be a gentleman, he was frowning at me so I got up and stared back at him and just I was about to speak, his deep masculine voice rented the air

"Do clumsy girls still exist", he said caressing his foreheads

What the hell!!! Did he just call me clumsy whereas he's the clumsy one, I couldn't hold the patience anymore so I said

"Well,well,well I also didn't know gentlemen ceased to exist aslo" I retorted

" You should apologize because you're the one at fault here"

"You say what??"He said smirking

" You heard me right, you were the one who refused to watch where you were headed"

" I don't think you know what you're saying" he replied staring daggers at me

We kept on exchanging words like kids ignoring the stares from passers-by

"Aiden!!!!!" A girl of my age shouted and the guy I was exchanging words with looked back and gave the girl a "what happen" look

"So his name's Aiden" I thought inwardly

The girl came closer and rolled her eyes at him then smiled at me and said

"I'm sorry for his clumsiness, please pardon him on my behalf"

Why does this girl have to come at a time like this" Aiden thought

Just when I was thinking of what to say, she apologized to the girl on my behalf smiling and she even called me clumsy. I'm so gonna kill this girl

"Who's clumsy" I asked looking at both of them

" You are and to apologize for your mistake is taking you years, so I helped you acknowledge your mistakes and apologize" Avery said grinning

"Remind me next time to tell God in my next life that I don't need this crazy girl as my sister"I thought

" I'd always love to be your sister in every lifetime" she said smiling

Did I say that aloud" I asked no one in particular

Then my phone rang and I excused myself to pick it

That Aiden guy is such a jerk if it wasn't for his sister's intervention we'd still be bickering at each other but I love the girl though she knows how to get on his nerves

"Hi, my name's Avery Marshall. Nice to meet you" she said extending her hand for a shake

I shaked her "I'm Kira Anderson, nice to meet you too"

"This is the first time I'm seeing your face in church. Did you just move here"

I nodded affirmative

" Yayyyy" she said hugging me tight choking me

When she noticed I was not breathing well, she released me

"Sorry I was happy because most of my friends are just my friends because of my brother and I have no real friends" she explained

" You'd be my friend right and when I mean friend I mean best of friends" she said giving me this babyish look

I laughed and accepted her request just as we were about to continue talking, her brother came and said their parents were already waiting for them

She hugged me and said goodbye. Not long after they left, my mum also came. She apologized for taking long saying she already made lots of friends and I was so happy for her because she deserved to be happy after all she went through

We stopped by at a shopping mall to buy clothes because we didn't pack alot of them and mum's starting work tomorrow at one of the biggest marketing company in New York

While we were in the car driving home, my sister couldn't stop talking about her new friend. She was so happy and I was happy for her because this is gonna be the only real friend she has

Most of the girls that befriends her only does that because of me.

Even though my sister is the most annoying creature ever, she's my everything and means the world to me.

We finally got up and I went upstairs to my room because I was exhausted. I went to shower and changed into something comfy then went downstairs to join everyone

Mum and Avery were cooking in the kitchen while Dad was watching news on the television. I went into the kitchen to grab a juice but before I went out Avery told Mom about my encounter with her friend and mum was laughing while she explained

"Aiden, I thought I trained you to be a better gentleman than this" mum said amid laughter

" Mum you should have seen the way Aiden was acting like a kid being denied candy" Avery chirped in (You now see I wasn't lying when I said she's very annoying). When she saw my expression she winked at me and started laughing

I left the kitchen then joined dad and I saw he was also laughing

"Really dad, you're also laughing" I asked faking annoyance

"Why would I" he said still laughing

Seeing I was the subject of mockery, I humbly decided to go back to my room not after I promised myself I'd deal with Avery for what she did.

Not long after, Avery came to my room and said dad wants to see me immediatey in his study

I was nervous and kinda scared but still I went and I met him sitting with his hands supporting his chin. He had my result in his front and looked at me that was when I knew all this was about

"You need to work on this, he said pointing at the result

"I get you don't like Algebra but I need a better result from you this time and remember this is your final class, don't disappoint me" he said sternly

" But dad I'm really trying my best"

"And it's not enough young man" he replied

" Make sure I see something better than this in your final results"

" Fine, I get it" I said as I left his office

We got home late and exhausted. Mom was too tired to cook so I made pancakes and coffee

"Thanks sweetheart" she smiled

"Hope you enjoyed today"

"Yeah I did, the people are nice and service was good too" I answered

" What about you mom" I asked

"Ohh, I met a couple and they were very nice. We discussed on alot of things and we'd visit them someday, you'd love them too" she explained

We finished eating and I packed the plates to the kitchen and saw my mum busy on her laptop

I decided to watch TV before retiring to bed so I switched it on and continuously changed channels. I got tired and bored seeing there was nothing interesting, I switched it off and went to peck my mom

" Goodnight Mom" I said and went up to my room

I looked at the scattered shopping bags on the floor, exhaled loudly and started to arrange everything where they belong. After long hours of arranging, I slumped on the bed and slept off.
