Reincarnated Mate 1.
My Early Life With Liam.
As Liam stood there, explaining to me that we were meant to be together, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of hope. I had grown up without a family and had always felt like I was missing something. Maybe, just maybe, Liam was the missing piece.
But before I could even begin to consider the possibility, my mind wandered back to my childhood. I was a child of the foster care system. My parents had died in a car accident when I was just six years old, and I was shuffled around from one foster home to the next. It was a lonely existence, one that left me feeling isolated and disconnected.
But the real nightmare started when I started middle school. It was there that I met the bullies who would make my life a living hell. They called me names, pulled my hair, and stole my lunch money. I felt like I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare.
That all changed the day I met Liam. I was walking home from school, my backpack slung over my shoulder and my head hanging low. Suddenly, a group of boys appeared out of nowhere, taunting me and calling me names. I tried to ignore them, but one of them shoved me hard, causing me to stumble and fall to the ground.
I lay there, crumpled on the pavement, tears streaming down my face. But then I heard a growl. It was low and menacing, and it seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once.
The bullies froze in fear, and I looked up to see Liam standing there, his arms crossed over his chest. He was taller and broader than any of the boys, and his eyes glowed with an intensity that was both thrilling and terrifying.
"Leave her alone," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
The bullies hesitated for a moment, but then they turned and ran away, disappearing down the street. Liam turned to me and held out his hand, helping me to my feet.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice softening.
I nodded, too shocked to speak. Liam walked me home that day, and we became fast friends. He was unlike anyone I had ever met before. Confident, fearless, and unapologetically himself.
As we grew older, our friendship deepened. Liam confided in me about his family and his role as an Alpha werewolf. I was fascinated by his stories of pack life, of hunting and running through the forest under the light of the moon.
It wasn't until years later that Liam revealed the truth about our connection. He told me that he had always known that we were meant to be together, that we were soulmates in a past life. I was skeptical at first, but as he explained it to me, something inside me clicked into place.
And so, as we stood there in my living room, our eyes locked in a silent conversation, I knew that Liam was telling the truth. He was my mate, and I was his. It was a wild and impossible thing, but it was also the most natural thing in the world.
As Liam took a step closer to me, I felt a rush of excitement and fear. He was an Alpha werewolf, after all, and I was just a human girl. But as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close, I knew that nothing else mattered.
For the first time in my life, I felt like I belonged somewhere. With Liam, I had found my family, my pack, my home. And I knew that I would do anything to protect it.
As Liam held me in his arms, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. I had spent my entire life feeling alone and disconnected, but with Liam, I had finally found a sense of belonging.
But as the reality of our situation set in, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fear. I was just a human, and Liam was an Alpha werewolf. What would that mean for us?
As if sensing my thoughts, Liam pulled away and looked at me with concern in his eyes.
"Don't worry, Charlotte," he said reassuringly. "I'll protect you. I won't let anything happen to you."
I nodded, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. But as we pulled away from each other, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. I had just found my soulmate, but our worlds were so different. Would we be able to make it work?
As if reading my thoughts, Liam took my hand and pulled me towards him.
"Come with me," he said, his voice low and urgent. "I want to show you something."
Without a second thought, I followed him out the door and into the cool night air. We ran through the forest, our footsteps barely making a sound as we darted through the trees.
As we ran, Liam told me about his life as an Alpha werewolf. He spoke of the pack and their customs, of their love of the forest and their fierce loyalty to each other.
I listened intently, my heart racing with excitement and fear. I had always been fascinated by the supernatural world, but to be a part of it now, as Liam's mate, was both thrilling and terrifying.
As we approached a clearing, Liam slowed down and turned to face me.
"Close your eyes," he said softly.
Without question, I closed my eyes and felt his hands on my shoulders. I felt a rush of wind as he spun me around, and then he whispered in my ear.
"Open your eyes."
I opened my eyes, and my breath caught in my throat. The clearing was bathed in a soft, silver light, and in the center of it was a group of werewolves. They were all shapes and sizes, ranging from young cubs to seasoned warriors. But what struck me the most was the sense of belonging that seemed to radiate from them. They were a family, a pack, and they belonged to each other.
As I watched in awe, Liam took my hand and led me towards the group.
"Charlotte," he said, his voice loud and clear. "This is my pack. They are my family, and now, they are yours too."
As he spoke, the wolves shifted, their eyes glowing in the moonlight. And then, as one, they howled, a mournful and haunting sound that echoed through the forest.
I felt a sense of awe and wonder as I stood there, surrounded by Liam's pack. I had never felt so alive, so connected, so whole.
As the howling died down, Liam turned to me and took my hand.
"Charlotte," he said, his voice low and urgent. "I need you to know something. Being my mate is not going to be easy. There will be dangers, and there will be risks. But I promise you this: I will always be there for you. I will protect you, and I will love you with all that I am."
I looked at him, my heart full of love and fear. But as he leaned in and kissed me, all doubts melted away. Liam was my mate, and nothing else mattered.
