The darkness swallowed us whole.

One moment, I could see the seven packs marching behind me.

The next, there was nothing.

No warriors.

No torches.

No sky.

Only darkness.

"Stay close!" I shouted. "Stay together!"

My voice disappeared into the blackness.

I turned around.
