The days following the Shadow Queen's attack were filled with tension.

The seven packs remained in the capital, preparing for war.

Warriors trained from sunrise until nightfall. Healers gathered medicine and supplies. Scouts watched the borders while the Alphas spent hours inside the council hall.

Everywhere I looked, I saw preparations for battle.

But beneath the activity was fear.

The wolves tried to hide it.

They laughed with their friends.
