Selene's POV

The Ironfang Pack's territory rose across the eastern horizon like the spine of a sleeping giant.

Snow covered the mountains, turning the peaks white beneath the pale sky. Sharp winds swept through the narrow valleys, carrying the scent of ice and stone.

The wolves who lived here were built for the harsh land. Their gray fur blended with the mountains, and their movements were slow but powerful.

I approached the village with several warriors.

Two guards blocked the entrance.

"Who are you, and why have you come?"

"I am Selene. I have come to speak with your Alpha."

One guard looked at the silver scars on my arms....
