Casey's POV

The guard knelt before the throne, his face swollen from the beating Eric had given him, his voice trembling as he spoke the words that made my blood run cold.

"It was Addison," he confessed, spitting blood onto the marble floor. "She paid me to take the children from their school. She said she had plans to kill Alpha Derek, and she didn't want his heirs coming back to take the pack after he was dead." He confessed.

A stunned silence fell over the throne room. I heard sharp intakes of breath, felt the weight of shocked stares pressing in from all sides.
