The council chief’s voice was still echoing off the stone walls of the throne room when Addison moved.
She didn’t make it three feet before I could even draw a breath to shout a warning, two guards were on her.
They seized her arms, wrenching them behind her back with a brutal efficiency that spoke to their pent up frustration.
