CASEY'S POV
“Wait don't tell me you are trying to reject me right now because I don't want that, and I can't accept it,” he spoke up from besides me.
“It's only right that we don't have anything together because you can't still be with someone like me, after knowing everything about me,” I explained further, while he just stared at me.
“What is that about you that would make me not want to be with you?” He asked me, but I kept quiet, not wanting to spill it.
I faced the floor, tears pricked at the corner of my eyes, realizing the moon goddess actually like me enough to give me a second chance mate, but it's so hurting that I still couldn't be with him.
Maybe, just perhaps I wasn't made to be with a mate in my life, but it's a good thing I have my kids already. There are my only joy, and I must find them, and return to where I have come from.
“Casey, I'm still waiting for you to say something,” he reminded me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I quickly used my thumb to wipe the tears that were in my eyes, and faced him fully.
I was so ready now, and I didn't care what would be his reaction anymore. “Like I said before, you won't even want me after knowing my story and I don't care actually,” I spoke calmly this time.
His gaze never left mine, and all I could see in him was curiosity, so I just proceed. “I'm a mother of three beautiful kids, and I don't regret having my kids,” I blurted out.
He kept quiet, while I searched his face for any expression, but there was none, so I kept my gaze fixed on him.
His lips curved into a smile. “Is that the reason you think I would not accept you?” He asked me, while I just nodded.
He was about to say something else when Derek interrupted him. “We are ready Casey, come let's go now,” I didn't hesitate to stand on my feet because my kids were more important than anything things else.
To me, nothing else truly matters aside them, and I would stick to that.
I soon stood beside Derek. “So tell me do you have any clue as to where they must have taken the kids to, or who must have taken them?” Derek asks me.
“I…” I was saying when Eric interrupted me.
“I know where the kids are, I saw some rogues take some kids into a cave, and that was why I had come to find who the parents of the kids were before going to rescue them.” Eric spoke up from behind us.
“What!” I exclaimed. “You saw them take my kids somewhere?” I asked him, while he nodded, before giving me some more explanation.
“What are we waiting for then, let's going immediately,” I urged them, while Derek gave him a look.
“Are you sure you really saw them, or you are just trying to prove something here?” Derek asked him.
I shook my head, with a frown on my face. “Derek, he can't be telling lies, let's just get going instead of you trying to bring out some other point in all of this,” I told him, while he just frowned and requested that Eric led the way.
Eric actually got in front, as we followed him out of the garden, but just as we got to the pack warrior who was standing at the entrance of the pack house, my eyes caught sight of the woman that had ruined the good relationship I had with Derek.
I couldn't help but frown at the sight of her. If it weren't for her, I would still be with Derek now, and he won't be absent from his kids' life like he was before.
I wished Addison never showed up in our lives because she was nothing but bad luck, and I can never forget her for ruining my life.
“Hi Casey,” she smiled at me, waving her hand, but I just ignored her. I believe she was up to something again, and I saw no reason to get involved with her.
One thing is for sure, I don't like her, and I was also sure she doesn't like me. She was only trying to act nice in front of everyone to make me look that the bad person here, but I don't care been the bad one.
I just want to stay far away from her as much as possible. I just don't need her to try to be nice to me because I don't need it, knowing fully well she isn't genuine.
“Casey, why are you ignoring Addison who had been greetings you?” Derek asked me, making me frowned immediately.
“Tell her to stop pretending because I'm not going to fall for it,” I blurted out, trying to sound calm as much as I can.
I was already so upset with everything, but I didn't want to show it to her, so she wouldn't feel like she was getting to me, and make me look like the bad one here.
“Casey it's been five years already, why can't you just put the past behind and become friends with me. I'm sorry for how I behaved in the past, I'm a changed person now,” Addison walked up to me, holding my hand.
“Addison, please let go of me, and just get back to Derek, that's where you belong not here,” I told her, hoping she could just stop her pretends already because I was already getting fed up with it.
And it was rather so annoyed, that I might not be able to hold my cool any longer.
“But I want us to be friends Casey, please don't send me away,” she said with a pitiful voice.
Anyone who doesn't know would feel she meant it and was truly sorry for what she had done in the past, and genuinely what to be friends with me now.
