CASEY'S POV
“I'm not going to let him go, no matter what you say. I have decided to put him where he belongs, and I'm doing just that,” Derek stated, making me roll my eyes.
Derek was nothing but a mean man, and I just hate that fact about him so much, and wish he could change it, but that was rather impossible.
I don't even understand why Derek was being jealous right now, besides he has Addison, and I guess she was enough for him, he doesn't need me in any way.
I thought within me, but just then a hand hit me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Furthermore, I found myself still standing in-between them, realized one of them had hit me, making me sighed softly.
“Casey, I told you to get out of the way, now look at what you have done to yourself,” I heard Derek say, making me realized he was the one who hit me.
“Derek, I think it's time you stop this nonsense. I mean, I didn't come here for this, our kids are out there in danger, and all you could do is fight over something unworthy.” I yelled.
“If you would rather not help me find our kids, then just let me know, I would go I search for them myself, besides I have been the only one taking care of them for the past five years.” I barked at him, unleashing the anger in me.
I really hate the fact that he was being so unreasonable right now. He had totally forgotten about the important thing, which was finding our kids, and here he was fighting all because of me.
“You know what, I shouldn't have come here in the first place, you are just nothing but the old and selfish Derek I know,” I said, and without any hesitation, I turned around, and started walking away.
But just then a hand grabbed hold of me, making me turn only to see Derek holding on to me. “Derek, let go of me, I'm leaving, and you will never see my face again,” I told him, trying to release my hands from his grip.
“Casey, I'm deeply sorry, you are right, I was actually selfish. I should have thought about our kids who were in danger before picking up a fight with him,” he apologized, but I wasn't buying it now.
All I wanted was to get the hell out of his pack, and go searching for my kids. They are the most important thing to me right now, and I'm ready to do whatever it takes to find them, and keep them safe.
I'm ready to lose my life just to ensure they were safe. They mean the world toe, and I can't trade them for anything in this world.
“You don't have to apologize because I know you don't mean this apology. You are just rendering it,” I told him, while he quickly denied it.
“Please you have to believe me Casey, I'm not as bad as you see me as,” he said, making me sigh softly, as I stared at him softly.
A part of me wants to believe him, but I still couldn't help but doubt him. “Anyway, that isn't the problem here. If you would like to help me, then let's get to work right away. We need to find our kids as soon as possible,” I told him, while he nodded immediately.
“I'm on it already, give me a few minutes, I will just get the pack warrior ready.” he said while I just nodded before he walked away, but after giving Eric a gaze that showed he wasn't done with him yet.
After Derek left, Eric walked up to me now. “Come with me,” I said, leading him away from the entrance of Derek's pack house.
We both entered Derek's garden, and had our seats together. I faced him once we were settled down on the chair there. “Are you really my mate?” these questions rang out of my mouth ever before I could stop myself.
“Yes, can't you feel the mate bond between us?” He asked me, his face shining with excitement.
“I can feel it, but I don't understand,” I blurted out, facing the floor now.
The fact that he was my mate, was really something shocking to me because I still couldn't believe it. Though I knew Derek broke the mate bond between us, but I never expected to have another mate after that.
“You have seen rather surprise that I'm your mate, or don't you want a mate?” He asked me, making me sigh softly.
“I will be honest with you. Derek was my first mate, and after he broke our mate bond, by rejecting me, I never thought I would ever have a mate again,” I pointed out, while he smiled.
“Okay, I understand now, but you should accept the reality at this moment, you have a second chance mate, and that's me, and I'm really so happy to have found you,” he said holding on to my hands now, while I just stared at him.
Somehow I was happy that I had a second chance mate, but again I knew he wouldn't accept me, especially not when I have a child with another man.
Thinking about that, killed the little joy that was already creeping into my heart.
I quickly unlocked my hands from his, killing the joy in my heart. I knew he was going to reject me after knowing the truth about me.
Furthermore, I mean Derek, who was my first mate and father of my kids could reject me, how much more Eric. Furthermore, I thought within me.
“Is there something wrong? Are you happy that I'm your mate? Don't you want me?” he asked so many questions, making me turn to face him.
“Eric, it's not that I don't like the fact that I have a second chance mate, but we can't be together,” I told him, avoiding his gaze.
I would rather not be in about getting rejected again, I know how much it hurts.
