ERIC'S POV

My eyes flipped open, making me realize I had dozed off last night even after telling myself that I would sleep so I could be able to look after her.

I raised my head from the bed, almost immediately, and found her still lying there.

I reached for Casey's head immediately, hoping for something good, but my heart sank instead; her skin was burning up, and she was having a fever.

"No, no, no," I muttered as I rushed to grab my water bottle, but I found it empty, making me gasp.
