Suddenly without warning rogues surrounded squadron C bearing their teeth as they growled in their wolf form.
"SHIFT!" Miller ordered before everyone shifted and all hell broke loose.
It didn't take long before blood-drenched every inch of the ground as werewolves tore each other apart like there was no tomorrow. Limbs flying left and right heads rolling to the ground, bones snapping under powerful jaws. It was a sight that would give anyone nightmares for days.
Miller himself was finally realising the true strength of a rogue. They were much more powerful than any regular wolf and didn't hold back because they lost most of their humanity. One rogue was easier for him to handle but two made him sweat as he struggled to put them down. With all his strength he managed to snap one rogue's neck before he stomped hard on the other's head cracking their skull.
Most rogues stayed clear of Miller after that sight, blood dripped down his jaw, eyes golden as they glowed with a crazed look in his eyes. It was clear the rogues were winning the fight while Miller's back was struggling to even hold them back. Miller took this as a chance to find Skyler.
On all fours, his paws pounded against the earth like thunder. In seconds he had reached the packhouse only to find it empty, not a single heartbeat could be heard. Miller shifted as he began searching the packhouse but every single room was empty.
'Kyle do you have Seon?' Miller asked through the mind link.
'He's not here alpha, no one is here.' Kyle said the dreaded words Miller did not want to hear.
"Damit," Miller cursed out loud as he ran his hand through his wet black locks.
"Well well well, look what the cat dragged in," Skyler's deep voice rang loudly as he stood in front of his brother.
Miller held in his breath as he scanned his brother up and down. It was the first time that they had seen each other face to face since Skyler left the pack.
"Skyler," Miller said through gritted teeth before they began circling each other.
"Miller, I would say it's a pleasure but then I'd be lying," Skyler said with a sinister smirk.
He had such a bloodlust look in his eyes that it left Miller on edge.
"Then what do you want?" Miller asked through gritted teeth.
"To have a little chat why of course," Skyler said with a shrug of his shoulders.
Miller was surprised to see how big Skyler had gotten.
"Chat? Ha, you're still a comedian I see." Miller's laugh boomed around the hall as he wiped a fake tear under his eye.
"Yes brother, chat or should I kill you now? It's your choice." Skyler said casually.
For a second Miller hesitated, Skyler still looked smaller but by the look in his eyes he for sure could take down Miller if he desired to and that terrified Miller.
"Fine, let's chat," Miller said through gritted teeth.
He didn't like being cornered; it left him aggravated and unpredictable.
"Fantastic, put this on," Skyler threw a bag that lay on the floor.
In seconds Miller had a black suit on that seemed a bit tight on him.
"Unfortunately they don't make suits in gorilla sizes," Skyler casually said.
"Follow me we don't have all day," Skyler said as he walked out of the packhouse.
Miller followed obediently because for one he was terrified of his brother and two Skyler had Seon and Kiera hidden somewhere. He had to extract that information out of Skyler somehow and he had to be casual about it or Skyler would easily catch on about it.
Cries of anger and pain filled the air as well as the smell of fresh blood. Skyler breathed it in as if it were fresh air putting Miller even more on edge.
Skyler led them out of pack lands to a little secluded human village.
"Why are we here?" Miller asked with irritation.
He wasn't particularly fond of humans.
"Business, of course, stay up to date or are just that dense?" Skyler asked blankly as he led Miller to a small coffee shop that looked good enough for Skyler and mainly because it was nearly empty.
"Watch your tongue shrimp, I can still mop the floor with you." Miller threatened with clenched fists.
"Keep dreaming gorilla boy," Skyler scoffed with a roll of his eyes.
A floral scent whiffed in the air attracting their attention. The scent was so enticing it had them following it with their nose in the sky. It wrapped around them like a warm blanket on a winter's day, it gave them a feeling of warmth and love. A feeling they both had craved since they were younger.
A low grow erupted deep from their chests before their legs carried them towards the alluring scent. Mouths salivating from the scent, hearts besting out of control and wolves howling in joy all saying one word.
Mate
Both alphas stopped dead in their tracks in front of the coffee shop where the scent was the strongest.
There is in front of the restaurant holding a tray was the source of the scent. A petite black haired woman moved from table to table serving the few customers in the cafe.
An hourglass body, alluring hazel eyes and smooth caramel-skinned tone. She was perfect in every sense of the word, even her smile radiated sunlight that blinded the alphas. Unbeknownst to them this little human would make and break them.
They stood there for however long before she noticed them and headed to welcome them. Her staff members were too stunned by the males they couldn't move, their handsomeness was out worldly.
"Welcome, table for two?" She asked politely even though her heart was racing through the roof.
The men were the hottest guys she had ever laid eyes on and considering she had just broken up with her boyfriend she was looking to find a boyfriend. She was leaning towards the more muscular guy but then her eyes would go back to the smaller guy and back and forth before she realised she desired them both so badly.
Her palms were getting sweaty and her heart was beating out of control.
"Yes," Miller answered with a dry mouth.
His mate was right in front of him yet his mind was blank as a whiteboard. He was too mesmerised by her beauty to even say anything coherent.
Skyler on the other hand looked composed as ever but inside he was dying to touch his mate. The woman he had been searching for for years. There she stood a mere couple of steps away yet his mind was failing him.
"Right this way," their mate said, her voice like music to their ears.
The love-struck men followed her without delay, her scent whipping around them. Little did she know she had them both wrapped around her finger before she even said a single word to them.
"My name is Isabella and I'll be your waitress. What can I get for you two?" She asked with a glowing smile?
Miller was floating on cloud nine as he couldn't take his eyes off her. Skyler was finally putting two and two together, the same way he looked at Isabella was the same way his brother did and that was not a good sign for sure. Skyler began to observe Miller's every move and he looked like a love struck puppy.
"A bottle of whiskey and two glasses," Miller said, not removing his eyes off hers.
"Coming right up," Isabella said with a slight blush to her cheeks before she left the table.
Skyler gagged inwardly as he finally came to the conclusion that she wasn't just his mate but also Miller's.
"I think I'm going to be sick," Skyler gagged as he held his hand over his mouth with a grave look.
"What's the matter with you? I just found my mate. You should be happy now I can leave you alone." Miller had the goofiest smile across his face.
"So did I," Skyler said gravely as he watched Isabella walk to the kitchen.
Miller's eyes shot through the roof as he finally caught up.
"WHAT!" He yelled in shock.
"Keep your voice down idiot," Skyler said, annoyed as he threw daggers in Miller's direction.
"What the fuck did you just say?" Miller said with a tick forming on his head.
"You heard me gorilla face, she's my mate as well." Skyler said through gritted teeth.
"Don't fucking play with me," Miller breathed heavily as he leaned across the table.
"Do I look like I'm fucking with you?" Skyler had a straight look on his face.
"Nooo," Miller said slowly his voice fading as he looked deep into his brother's eyes.
"Yes," Skyler said as he face palmed in annoyance.
"Whiskey on the rocks," Isabella came back with their bottle.
"I think we're going to need two more," Skyler said as he felt his head pounding from the thoughts clouding his mind.
Isabella looked at him as if he had lost a screw loose.
"He's right, bring us two more bottles thanks," Miller said with a forced smile.
Never mind just bring us three," Miller corrected himself as his head pounded as well.
Neither twin could believe what they just discovered, had the mood goddess made a mistake or were they dreaming?
Isabella was too bewildered by their request to notice the list filled eyes that lingered behind her as she went to fetch their order. For such hot looking men they clearly had gotten into some trouble wanting to get wasted while it was bright outside. Isabella shook her head of those thoughts before she grabbed the bottles of Whiskey and brought them back to the table.
"Can I get you anything else?" Isabella asked politely.
"No, we're alright for now sweetheart." Miller said with a small smile.
The way he called her sweetheart had her melting on the spot. It just rolled off his tongue effortlessly and sounded so good coming from his mouth.
"Let me know if you need anything else," Isabella said with pink cheeks before she rushed to serve other customers.
But her eyes would always wander back to the two guys in the secluded corner. No matter who she served her eyes would naturally check on the guys. She knew they probably were trouble by the way they just screamed trouble but she was a sucker for the baddies.
"Pull yourself together man," Miller said harshly as he slapped his brother from whatever daydream he was in.
"Did you just slap me?" Skyler asked as his eyes glowed golden.
"Shit, calm down man, I didn't mean it in a hostile way." Miller said, raising his hands up in a surrender pose.
"Don't fucking touch me again!" Skyler said through gritted teeth as his eyes went back to their clear blue hue.
"Why are you so sensitive about touch?" Miller asked with creased brows as he took a gulp from the bottle of whiskey he was drinking from.
"I don't like people touching me, end of discussion," Skyler shut down the conversations as he gulped down his bottle.
Considering werewolves didn't get drunk easily this was nothing for them. Before long they had their first bottles done and we're drinking the last one.
"How can this be possible?" Miller asked as he caught eyes with Isabella across the restaurant.
"Anything is fucking possible in this family," Skyler scowled as he took a sip of from his bottle.
Skyler suddenly felt drained as he realised the one thing that was meant to be his wasn't his. His mate wasn't his alone and that killed him more than he let on. He had been looking forward to this day his entire life, someone he could rely on no matter what.
