Thunder rumbled outside the windows and I huddled deeper under the thick blankets. The lights flickered on the walls and I heard Reyna loudly eating popcorn next to me.

Cassian would be picking me up for our date any minute and while I was waiting I sat down next to Reyna who was watching some horror movie. While she crouched on the edge of the couch so as not to miss anything, I preferred to hide behind the cushions.

The dark shadows of the trees and the rain pelting against the windows didn't make the film any more harmless.
