Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Rebecca POV:

Back at Anna's house, my two kids wouldn't go to bed yet, even though they were too sleepy to keep their eyes open.

When they saw me open the door and come in, they cheered and jumped off the couch into my arms.

"Mommy I missed you so much!"

Vivian hugged me and refused to let go: "Mommy, I miss you more than Charlie, please kiss me immediately!"

Ever since she was a little girl, Vivian had been more pampered than Charles and was not shy about badmouthing her brother.

Anna smiled and came up to me, "They said they didn't want to go to bed until mommy got home. Becky, they really love you."

"Of course, I love Vivi and Charlie, too."

I knelt down and hugged them and kissed them both on the cheek.

"Anna, they didn't make any noise, did they?"

Anna smiled benevolently, "They kept me company all night and made me very happy. Becky, you are doing a great job with the kids."

When she heard Anna's praise, Vivian hid behind my neck shyly.

I stroked her head, "What did you all talk about with Aunt Anna?"

"Auntie Anna introduced us to Maryland!" Charles said excitedly to me, "Mom, let's go to the park tomorrow for a picnic! Auntie said there's a nice big square under the Feral Group building and we can go there to skateboard and pedal bikes!"

Ferrall ......

Hearing that last name, I couldn't help but frowning.

The company of that domineering and arrogant man was not something I wanted to go near at all.

The arm that he had just grabbed still hurt a little.

If I see him again, I will definitely not be polite to him.

"Charlie, can we play somewhere else? There are many more fun places in Maryland, such as ......"

I couldn't say anymore because the smile on Charles' face suddenly disappeared.

Anna could see that the two of us were not happy, and quickly reassured: "Charlie don't you want to go see the zoo that auntie said? We can also feed the animals, it's fun."

Charles was immediately interested and cheered, "Yes! I want to go to the zoo! Mom, Auntie, let's go to the zoo tomorrow and have a picnic together!"

Vivian didn't understand, but when she heard that she could play, she jumped in my arms with joy: "Then I want to eat pizza and tiramisu! And milk!"

After putting the kids to bed, I planned to take a shower, and just as I came downstairs I saw Anna sitting on the couch sipping wine.

She patted the couch next to her, "Becky, it's been a while since we've talked."

I went over and picked up my red wine glass and clinked glasses with her, "Thank you for hosting the three of us again."

"It would be rude to be polite again." Anna asked me, "Did you see them at the party earlier?"

I knew that by "they" Anna meant my father's family.

"Yes, I saw them, and I saw Matthew the Wolf King."

Anna was very surprised: "The Wolf King? How could he be there?"

I was angry at the mention of him and said angrily, "He is my sister Linda's fiancé, and if he hadn't shown up, I would have been able to force Linda to give me my mother's pearl necklace."

I showed Anna my pinched arm, "Look, he is so rude and unbelievable, I really don't know how he became the wolf king."

I let out all my frustrations and Anna burst out laughing at the sound of it.

"Becky, he is at least our sire, you should treat him with respect. If you provoke him, you will be punished."

I disdained: "I won't see him again anyway, it doesn't matter if I complain a few times."

After talking with Anna for about half an hour, we were both sleepy and after saying good night to her, I went back to the children's room and slept in the same bed with them.

The next morning, Anna drove the three of us to the Baltimore Zoo.

It was the kids' first time at the zoo, and they were so excited to see the animals that they fed carrots to the giraffes and then to the camels, and Vivian tried to pass her water bottle to the otter.

Sitting aside and seeing this, I was so frightened and immediately ran over to carry her down when I noticed a flash of someone passing behind me.

"Anna, did you notice that someone was following us?"

Anna was startled and wanted to turn around to see, I quickly stopped: "Do not alert the person. Take Vivi and Charlie towards crowds and I will see if I can lure those people away."

"Becky, it's too dangerous."

Anna tried to persuade me into coming with them, but if those people were coming for me and the kids were following me, then they would get hurt someway.

"It's okay Anna, I'll be back soon. Take care of the kids."

After saying that, I didn't give Anna a chance to refuse and turned around to leave.

I deliberately walked towards a less crowded place, pretending to be playing with my phone and looking towards the back. There was a man with a peaked cap following me sneakily.

He didn't look like a person who likes to look at animals at all, and kept staring at my back.

I suddenly stopped and he immediately went to the ice cream truck next to me and pretended to pick an ice cream, I went forward again and he immediately followed me.

Sure enough, he was following me.

I hid in the ladies' room and called Anna.

The phone just rang and Anna immediately answered, "Becky, are you okay there?"

"I'm fine for now. Someone is indeed following me, and I need a little more time to get back to you guys."

Anna's was short of breath when she heard that, "Oh my God, can you fix that? Do you need me to go to the police?"

"No." I reassured Anna, "I've found the stalker. I can get back to you as soon as I get rid of him. He doesn't seem to mean any harm."

I lied.

I didn't know if the man was trying to hurt me, but that was all I could say to reassure Anna and the children.

Who on earth could be following me?

Could it be Linda?

She had been trying to get rid of me, and now that I was asking her for my mother's pearl necklace, she must have wanted me to get the hell out of Maryland.

Or was it Matthew, that rude man?

After all, he was the wolf king and did whatever he wanted, so stalking me was no big deal for him.

But whoever the man was sent by, I had to get rid of him first and make sure my children were safe.

The toilet wasn't sealed, so I climbed out of the tool shed window and went around to the palm tree next to the sink to see that the man wearing the peaked cap was indeed standing in front of the ladies' room.

I panicked and ran back to the feeding area to look for the three Anna, who saw me safely back and hugged me repeatedly said, "Thank God, thank God! You were going to scare me to death Becky, thank goodness you got back safely."

The two children still do not know what happened, only calling me mom seeing me back.

Suddenly a white light flashed and I jerked back to see a camera pointed right at me and the kids.

"What are you doing!"

I shouted angrily, the man with the camera was startled.

He apologized and told me, "Sorry for scaring you, I was just taking pictures for my girlfriend."

I sighed in relief and felt tired, saying to Anna, "The man who was following me should still be there, let's get out of here."
