Charles was certainly on my side, shaking his head, "Dad, even though I'm a child, you have to keep your promise."

Matthew was angry and he took a few deep breaths to control his anger, and asked me, "So where do you want to go? I'll drive you there."

"No need, just give me a car and I'll go back on my own."

"No way!" Matthew decisively vetoed my decision, "What if you get into danger on the way? I can't put my kids in danger."
