After watching the children fall asleep, I went back to my room.

I was still feeling pretty when I thought back on the day and as I lay in bed I suddenly remembered that a little present Matthew had given me at the amusement park was still in my handbag.

It was a small, plain ornament, but I loved it. It was a jumping deer and I wanted to put it next to my bed.

I got up to get it from my handbag again and when I opened it, I unexpectedly found a letter.
