There was silence on the other end of the line for a long time, and only when I was about to give up did Christian speak slowly, "Okay. I'll try to get along with him for your sake, but Rebecca, I haven't forgiven him yet."

I understood Christian's feelings, he was doing it all for my sake, and it really wasn't that easy to make peace with a man who had hurt his daughter.
