"Liv," Jace breathes behind me and I bury my head deeper into Noah's chest. "Liv," he says more forcefully now, "look at me!" He grabs my arm, pulls me out of Noah's arms and turns me towards him. "Why did you do that?" My voice is no more than a whisper. He doesn't answer me, just looks at me, his eyes piercing mine.

"I'm the Alpha and I don't have to answer to anyone," his eyes flash slightly yellow before he turns around and leaves. There's no sign of Carter either, great, now I've lost both of them.
