Today was the day I was going to meet Nancy for dinner. Today, I would find out if I had to take the risk of racing either this Friday or Saturday or if it wasn't necessary. Since I woke up in the morning, I almost begged God (I wasn't very religious, to be honest) to give me luck so that Nancy would provide me with all that money. If it was a necessity before, now it was even more crucial. I depended on this money so that my family and I could have more time in our home and avoid being kicked out.
