My sleep has been filled with scary dreams and nightmares of the assault for the past few days. Even now, I was struggling to get off the bed, flailing my legs against the thick duvet until I felt a hand around me.
“Let me go,” I screamed, clawing the arm that tried to prevent me from running away until my eyes flew open, my breath pouring out heavily and raggedly from my lungs.
“It's me, Reid,” I heard his reassuring whisper against my ears, his hand running slowly over my skin.
My eyes flapped shut again, but this time, it was to steady my breathing and acclimatize...
