He froze, the struggle and conflict to withdraw glaring in his eyes.
“I don't want to, Lola,” he refused gently.
Anger shot through me instantly. “Why?” The question came out cool yet sharp.
He fell silent, expression contoured into stoicism. I wondered why he became indifferent every time I talked about Reid. He was obviously hurt by the distance between them and even longed for him, yet, he didn't let me in to help him find a solution.
“Answer me, Rowan. Don't I have the right to know what happened between both of you?” I asked angrily.
