“Hi, Madeline. Is Lola there with you?” I asked her over the phone, and began counting numbers mentally in my head.

“She's not. I thought she was there with you,” her voice trailed off, my anxiety flying over the roof.

It was ten p.m already, and both of her lines were switched off. Jade confirmed that she left the office early and Reid said that she'd been avoiding him so where the fuck was she? Why couldn't I reach her?
