“So, how does it feel to date Jade? I bet it's wonderful,” Lola decided to be salty with me this morning.

I chewed aggressively on the toast, ignoring her. Her little tantrums were like music to my ears, and with the shitty workload in sight, I needed some of her sassiness to set me off.

“It's peaceful,” I answered simply.

Her eyes narrowed, her fork dragging the eggs into little crumbs as she stuffed it all into her mouth. My gaze followed the pout of her lips while she munched furiously, rolling her eyes.
