Chapter 12

Chapter 12

At seven in the evening Clarice called Lucia to accompany her to Mayara's house.

- I really have to go? - She said going down the stairs.

- He comes! Help me take this - she said putting some tapawers in her daughter's hands.

- Do you have to take these lunch boxes?

- We will!

The two got out and crossed the street carefully. They pressed the bell and Mayara answered them.

- What a good surprise! She-she said excitedly. - Come in.

- Good to see you again Mayara - Clarice said giving her friend a hug.

- How long, how beautiful you are.

Lucia looked curiously around the room. She was different, she didn't even remember what she was like before. She touched some ornaments on the bookshelf and saw the picture of Marcos next to a man. She thought she was his father.

- Who is it? She-she asked showing the photo to the mothers sitting on the couch.

- Bring it here dear, let me see it up close - asked Mayara.

Lucia handed it over, sitting on the sofa as well.

- This is Marcos' uncle. My brother Gilbert. Here it was in Thailand when Marcos was initiated in MuayThai together with Gil. I stayed in Miami working as a maid in a hotel at that time.

- So all this time you were in the United States?

- Yea.

- What a nice lady Mayara.

The two mothers laughed when Lucia referred to her neighbor like that. Lucia was embarrassed by their mockery.

- Stand up, my girl - Mayara said to Lucia. - I want to see you.

Lucia felt uncomfortable with her request.

Mayara looked her up and down. - Our! How beautiful Lúcia is – Lúcia cringed. - A beautiful girl. Almost a woman. She's ready to get married and have kids.

- Don't even tell me, I don't want her to do the same as me - replied Clarice.

- Same as us, honey.

The two laughed again. Mayara came closer, sniffed and touched Lucia's hair, then rested her hand on her shoulders, who was embarrassed.

- What well-groomed hair. What perfect apples you have and what a little mouth. Boys are supposed to fight over you at school, right? – Mayara said, sitting back on the couch.

- No. No boy fights for me-when she finished saying that Lucia saw Marcos listening leaning against the dining room door. She sighed and sat back down.

He approached and sat on the arm of the sofa flirting with Lucia. Mayara got up and looked for some old photo albums.

-Look what I brought to remember the good times-she threw it on the coffee table.

- Why are you showing these photos? Mother's joke - Marcos said in a rude tone.

- What a brute you are, keep quiet - the mother scolded him.

The three began digging through the albums. Mayara excitedly found a photo of Marcos with Lúcia when they were little.

- Oh, how cute! – Mayara said.

- Ahaha! - Clarice laughed.

Lucia looked closely and recognized the children in the photo.

-Oh no - she said covering her face with her hands.

Curious Marcos stood behind the sofa they were sitting on and saw the photo. Even he smiled, but he didn't remember that day well, they were very small.

- I think Marcos was four years old here - Mayara said.

- Was. Lucia must have had three – Clarice said.

- You talk as if we weren't even here listening - complained Lucia.

- They look like two old women - Marcos criticized.

- Be quiet - Clarice said. – Cute, the two of you in that pool. So plump.

- Mother? – Lucia replied – we are naked, what a shame.

- Oh dear, don't be ashamed - said Mayara. – this is natural.

- Natural?

- You are children. What problem is there?

- Can I drink some water?

- Of course beautiful. Marcos takes Lucia to the kitchen.

"She can go alone," he said gruffly.

- Marcos you evil servant, I do what I'm telling you - Finally he got off the couch and signaled to Lucia.

- You can leave Dona Mayara, I'll go alone - Lucia got up and walked to the kitchen. Marcos received a pinch from his mother as a reprimand, grimaced in pain and went after Lúcia.

- Why can't these boys be a little nice to girls? – Mayara grumbled looking at Clarice who soon agreed.

- They still have a lot to learn my friend.

- Let me get it for you - Marcos said, advancing to the fridge before Lucia caught up with her. She stuck out her tongue and he took the insult back. He drank the water and took the glass to the sink. She turned around, pressing her lips together. Irritation rose in Marcos's throat.

- So how was your life in the United States? – Lucia asked as she crossed her arms leaning against the sink.

- What interests you? – replied grumpy. - You don't even know me, you don't even know what I went through, right - he left the kitchen and went towards the bedroom. Lucia limited herself to the dining room door that opened onto another room in the house that led to Marcos' room.

When she gave up, upset and went to turn around to go back to the living room, his hand tugged at her, dragging her to her room. She shook herself. He covered her mouth and closed the door. He threw himself on the bed with her.

- And then, let's play mom and dad or fight club - Marcos said insinuatingly.

- You are an idiot - Lucia elbowed his belly, getting rid of his arms.

- There! he muttered. – why does it hurt me when you are the one who hits me.

- Because? Your opponents don't hurt you that much how much me? You hurt me by being an idiot.” She tried to open the door.

-Stop fooling around and come here my squire - her eyes devoured her curves.

"If I could trust you, who knows." She scowled at him.

- Let's redo the picture of us here in bed - he lifts his shirt revealing his ripped abdomen. “Or down in the bathroom.” He jumped out of bed and took off his shirt and took slow steps toward her. Lucia shivered. She bit her lip as usual when she gets angry or nervous. It stoked him. But before she got there, she dodged him over the bed.

-Let's not play anything - she stuck out her tongue mocking him.

- Is it? So let's see - he ran out wanting to catch her. The two stood in circles as if playing tag. Until Marcos grabbed her. She struggled weakly, not having the strength to pull out this time. She chuckled at the tickle he gave her waist. He pinned her to the bed. The two laughed almost non-stop. Her fingers traced her face fondly. While the other hand intertwined her fingers.

'You are…' she gasped.

- I know. I'm an idiot.

- No. It's... I'm not ready.

No, I'm not going to force anything on you. With you has to be special squire.” She nibbled his chin and illustrated his lips with soft kisses. He knew how to conquer her when he wanted to. Lucia did not object. She was taken by the moment. She let Marcos direct her movements with pious caresses. The two were dating for a few minutes. While their mothers were drinking coffee in the living room, remembering moments of their lives as teenagers.
