*His touch was like fire and his gaze was ice cold *
"Come on, Alisha! You can do it!" Atea calls to me.
I look up at her. "It's your damn fault you have to wait for me now! You were the one who had this stupid idea! So you can continue to wait for me in peace!" I shout to her, annoyed, trying not to look down as I continue to climb up.
"Oh, Alisha! Don't be memes! It's fun or not! I mean, who would ever dare to climb a mountain at this time of day when it's pitch black!"
“Well, who? My very crazy best friend who believes that she can do anything without anything happening and thus endangering her own life and also the life of her best friend who feels like she's about to fall into the depths!"
Holy shit!
I shouldn't have done that!
But no! Atea had to convince me to do it!
I mean, I'm tied up and climbing a mountain. I would never have done this voluntarily, but Atea somehow persuaded me to do it. And now I'm here trying not to fall, which isn't so easy because I can fall at any time.
"Alisha! Be careful where you step on it! The mountain is a little slippery!" she tells me from above while I'm still at the bottom.
I won't answer her about that. Because I feel a strange feeling inside me. Damned! I should not have done it!
"When I feel the ground beneath my feet again, I will kill you in cold blood! Do you understand me, Atea!" I call to her from below and try to climb further up.
My body is completely tense. My heart is literally racing.
"Man Alisha! We did it right away! Just a few more meters and we'll be at the top! Come on!" "I didn't want to do that! You literally forced me to do it! So keep your mouth shut and have a little respect! Because I'm not as sporty and fun-loving as you!"
Oh, Atea! Why do I join in with every shit!
Come on, Alisha.
You can do it!
You're almost there!
Just a few more meters and you'll be at the top!
Cheering myself up doesn't help me at all, but at least I just keep climbing.
And as I continue to climb and place my leg on a stone and pull myself up, I suddenly slip so that I lose my balance and fall into the depths. As I do this I let out a very loud scream as I just fall.
I hear Atea screaming for me, but I just fall into the depths.
Who would have thought that my life would end like this. I thought I would die differently, but apparently that's exactly how I had to die.
And that's just because I agreed to do it.
However, with Atea you can never say 'no'.
So this is how my life should end? Just fall into the depths without even saying goodbye? Great!
I don't know how long I've been falling for, but it feels somehow strange. I have a strange feeling on my skin, like I'm burning myself on something or someone
Am I in hell now?
I open my eyes to see if I'm really dead or if I've just imagined myself falling into the depths. When I opened my eyes again and looked down, I realized that I wasn't lying on the ground or in hell.
Confused, I continue to look down.
"Am I dead now or has my soul left my body?" I ask myself uncertainly and shake my head at the same time.
Okay, if I'm still alive, why am I floating in the air and feeling a burning gaze on me?
It immediately clicks in my head. I feel a hand around my waist and another hand under the back of my knees.
Without hesitation, I turn my head and look straight into two ice cold brown eyes staring back at me. My body immediately tenses and my breath fades. I stare at him.
Alisha breathe!!
It's not working.
I want it, but it doesn't work.
Just looking at him makes me forget how to breathe. I don't know why, but it feels strange. My skin burns like fire under his touch, but I don't burn myself one bit.
Damned! It feels good, but why it feels that way, I just don't know.
I can hardly recognize him. Because, he wears a black mask that covers his entire face except his eyes.
A man dressed entirely in black, like the darkness.
There is no one to be seen or heard here. It's quiet and too quiet. I just hear my heartbeat, how it's pounding and it's not a normal pounding, it's stronger and faster, like it wants to get out of me.
He doesn't break eye contact with me, which I don't either. We both stare at each other.
Until Atea breaks eye contact by looking over his shoulder.
The guy also sits me down on the floor so that I can feel him under my feet again. Without looking at him again, I turn to Atea, who is coming towards me.
"Alisha!" she says my name and comes straight towards me. I don't move from the spot and just look at her until she comes to me and takes me straight in her arms.
I don't return the hug because I'm looking for him. I move away from her and look around, but he is no longer there. He simply disappeared.
Confused, I look around, but he was no longer there.
He's just gone.
"Alisha? Is everything okay?" she asks me worriedly. I look around again until I look at her and nod slowly.
"Yes. I'm fine," I say.
Who was this guy?
Who was he!
Who was this strange guy who saved my life?
