"Why were you late for class this morning?" Tyler asks me.

"Because I was held up," I say briefly and continue eating my food.

I was actually almost 15 minutes late and my only explanation was that I was with the principal. The teacher actually believed me, but not my friends. They just looked at me questioningly the whole lesson and I just pretended not to notice. But since I know my friends, they will now bombard me with questions.

"Who stopped you?" Ethan asks me.

"Tris," I say briefly.

"Who is Tris?" asks Tyler.

"Alisha's ex-boyfriend," says Atea.
