While Alessandro saw the doctor off Maria went to the kitchen to prepare some food for Hazel. Since she had vomited all that was in her, she would be very hungry when she regained consciousness.

She made some beef broth and scooped some into a plate before placing it on a tray. She carried it out of the kitchen onto the stairs.
