Chapter 5 The Flight

Chapter 5 The Flight

"I, Hazel Walker hereby agree to take Alessandro Fabrizio as my lawfully wedded husband… until Romeo Fabrizio can walk on his two feet again" those words kept on replaying in Hazel's head as they boarded the plane.

When would he walk again? She didn't know. She plopped on the plush seat. This was her first time in a private plane. She would have given anything for this moment but not this way. Not when a domineering Alessandro had waltzed into her life and changed it within seconds.

Just within two days she had become Mrs Hazel Fabrizio. Just In the name of it. She would stay clear off his way. After all, she didn't appeal to him. He hated her so much that he could hurt her if he wanted.

"For how long are we going to do this? The contract didn't stipulate" she turned to face him fully where he had settled to work on some paper.

"For as long as it takes Romeo to walk again. If it takes him ten years, my dear I would have to bear with your prude looks for ten good years. Even the thought of that repulses me" he furrowed his eyebrows.

Hazel swallowed at the impact of his words on him. She struggled to keep the tears that rushed to her eyes at bay. She wouldn't let him see the impact of his words on her. No she wouldn't.

"I hope you know that this is an open relationship and that I can take my pleasures elsewhere each time I want it. Don't be surprised when I do so. After All I'm a potent man" Alessandro sneered at her. He had seen the impact of his words on her. He enjoyed riling her up.

"I just wanted to let you know that apart from my name, nothing else matters in this relationship. Let that stick to your brain. Now if you may, I would like to get back to my work" he completed and focused on the paperwork before him.

He had a meeting as soon as they landed and he would need the papers to preside over the meeting. Hazel turned back to the windows. She wished she could lay her hands on something to do but there was nothing.

The television before her didn't interest her. Her mind went back to Avery. Their parting had been full of tears and byes. She was starting a new life far away. She wished Avery all the best and they promised to check up one each other every time.

"If he ever hurts you, do not fucking forget to let me know. Maybe my karate lessons would add some bruises to that handsome face of his" Avery had whispered into her ears as they hugged each other.

She smiled. Avery was always one to infuse lightheaded jokes into conversations to make it funny. She could dazzle a room with her extroverted spirit while she was like a dull water.

Their combination was perfect. She would always be grateful for the day she met her. Hazel turned to Alessandro where he hunched over his work.

How would her new life with him be? Was this his harsh demeanor a facade or that was truly who he was?

Maybe she would know now.

"When do I get to start my job?" She asked sarcastically. Alessandro raised his head up from the work. He looked at her quizzically.

"When will I meet Romeo?" She asked softly. His features changed before he quickly arranged it back into a mask. "You will start your job as soon as we land. He is in Milan" he stood up and moved to another seat.

"Milan?" She was surprised that he had sent the boy back. All these while she had thought that he was resting somewhere in the plane.

"I sent him back yesterday. Are you satisfied?" He asked while she nodded.

"Can you please not disturb me again? I am busy here. If you are hungry, you could get some food" he said as he adjusted on the seat. Why did his expression change when she talked about his nephew? Maybe he was behind a facade.

She hoped to meet the boy soon. Hazel had always loved kids. Since she wasn't treated well as a child, maybe that was the reason she longed for kids.

Hazel rested her back on the chair and soon she fell asleep. Since there was nothing to do, she could do with some rest.

"You said it was a mistake last time. Papa, please let me go. Don't hurt me. Please" Hazel moaned in her sleep. "Let me go or I'll report you" she gasped.

"Hazel, Hazel wake up! Hazel!" Alessandro shook her. He had been meditating when he heard her gasp. He had ignored her at first but when he heard her low mufflings he knew that there was something more to it.

He walked up to her and heard her say "Papa, please let me go. Don't hurt me. Please." He quickly tapped her but she didn't wake up. Then he moved to face her.

That's when she awoke. She gasped as she looked at him."What's going on? Are you ok?" Alessandro asked her in confusion. Hazel quickly looked around. She was safe, she realized. "Nothing at all. Just a bad dream. I am alright" she withdrew her hands from him and faced the window.

"Go lie on the bed. You will feel better there. Instead of getting cooped up in the seat." Alessandro stood up to go back.

Hazel also stood up to enter the plane's suite. She had been sleeping well until those dreams emerged again. She rubbed her forehead.

Alessandro watched her retreat into the room. Who was the person in her dream and why did she look so troubled when she woke up? "Papa please let me go? Who was Papa?" He pondered and made a mental note to start an investigation into her past.

"If I would be living with someone for as long as that, I have to know who I'm dealing with" he thought hard and picked up his notepad to jot some things he needed to find out about her.

His men would surely do a number on it. He trusted them.
