Chapter 3 Sign it

Chapter 3 Sign it

"Sign the damned paper right now!" Alessandro growled as he placed a contract before Hazel.

When the news had gotten to him that his brother, wife, and their first child had been involved in an accident.

He vowed to avenge their death. However, he heard that the driver died.

What irked him the most was that he had insisted that they shouldn't go on vacation but Sergio's obstinacy had caused all this.Sergio had insisted on taking them with him.

"After overseeing our branch there, we can take Romeo through Miami. He's never been there before." he had said.

His brother and Venita, his pregnant wife, had died instantly with the drunk recluse of a driver. Romeo, their first child, had survived but he had severe injuries on his legs. The doctor had said that it would take a miracle for him to walk again.

Standing before her, he wanted to choke the life out of Hazel but that wouldn't bring back his dead brother or Venita or the four-month-old baby she was carrying back. The baby they had so much doted upon while in the womb.

"Don't sign it Hazel. Drop that pen right now" Avery glared at Alessandro as she shouted. Who was he to barge in here and give orders?

"Brady killed your family! Not her! Why does she have to pay!?" She was so angry.

The three men that were holding her prevented her hands from coming in contact with his chiseled features. He was such a nasty brute!

" Let my friend go please, I will sign it" Hazel finally said as she pleaded with Alessandro.

"Really? Do you really think that I will listen to such nonsense? I call the shots here woman! This isn't a request! It is an order! Sign that paper or I swear to God I will make your life a living hell! Much more worse than my brother's death. You can imagine how that will be."

Alessandro swore as anger flared up in him. After Hazel threw up in him, they had rallied around him to clean him up though there was still a patch of the stain on his dark suit.

She sat before him carrying that scum's baby while his family members lay six feet below! Who was she pleading with? She didn't have a choice here. Not even the slightest chance. If she didn't sign it, she would know no peace. Now that Romeo was out of ICU, the danger had passed.

He needed someone who would take good care of him and help till he could stand on his own two feet again because Alessandro had vowed that his nephew would walk again. He had already contacted one of the best doctors back in Rome.

It would cost him nothing. He had accumulated wealth that could last a generation. Who would take care of him better than the wife of that bastard who caused all these? At least, that would atone for her husband's carelessness and drunk driving.

"I will sign it but please let her go. She has been on her knees for over thirty minutes. I beg you." Hazel's eyes watered with fresh tears. Things were going at a much faster pace for her.

Brady's death had undone a lot of things. Now she had to sign her freedom away to this stranger from nowhere. How would the rest of her life be? How? Living with another selfish man nauseated her but life gave her no choice.

It gave her no choice with her drunk father. No choice when she got pregnant with Brady's first child, so she had no choice but to marry him. No choice with this Roman god sitting on her dining table like everything was normal. She was roped in a lot of mess.

"When you sign it, maybe I will let her go." Alessandro tilted his head to regard her fully. He had contacted his trackers back here in Miami to track down any of Brady's relatives. The anger in him had made him conduct careful research.

They had found out that he had no family again except a pregnant wife. Though that search had cost him a week and money, he had found her at long last. He, first of all, bought off the house where she stayed and spurred the debtors to rile her up with their demands.

After pushing her to the wall, he showed up. By this time Romeo had gained consciousness.

"You are wasting my time young lady. Should I force you to do it? That I can do." he wrinkled his face.

"Don't" Avery screeched but Hazel had signed it already. Her tears had soaked the paper.

"You can have it! Let my friend go" she passed the paper to him and stood up to go help Avery up from where the men had released her after Alessandro ordered them to.

"How are you feeling?" Avery looked to Hazel who helped her up and dried her tears.

"You conceited jerk!" She dashed to slap Alessandro who held her hands and stopped her with a stony glare.

"You had better warn your friend. She is testing my patience. I don't have time for such histrionics." he threw her hands off him and motioned to his men.

"Expect my call very soon," he said as they walked out. Then he stopped in his tracks and turned to her." what do you want again?" Hazel asked in a low voice.

He moved closer till his face was near hers. " Just a little advice for you my dear friend. Do not think of running away. My men are just around the corner to watch your movement" he said as his breaths fanned her crimsoned cheeks.

"Let us go" he turned and walked out this time around.

Hazel dropped onto the chair behind her. "Fuck off! You bastards" Avery slammed the door in their faces.

'I do wonder why we have more nasty rich men. Can't they be cultured!?" She humped as she came back to sit down beside Hazel who stared into space.

"Hey," she said softly. The tears rolled off Hazel's cheeks. She could not control them again.

"Shhhhsshh, stop crying. You will hurt yourself and the baby" Avery patted her back and spoke soft words into her ears.

"What do I do?" Hazel turned to look up at her. "Are you really asking me that? We are going to run away of course!" Avery said to a shocked Hazel.

"How?" Hazel looked at Avery quizzically. "Watch me," Avery replied.
