"A grandchild?" I repeated, still a bit taken aback by her request.
"I don't understand what you are saying, grandmother," I said, with my brow furrowed.
"Let me explain," Grandmother said, her voice full of patience. "I'm growing older, and I've come to realize that I don't want to live out the rest of my days alone," she began.
"I want to have a great-grandchild to care for, and who better to provide me with that child than my grandson and his mate, which is you?"
"But, Grandmother," I said, still a bit flabbergasted by the whole situation, "I'm not pregnant, and I'm not sure if that's something...
