I jumped through the window, scaring my best friend almost to death.

I came to a shaky halt while Hazel clutched her chest and glared at me.

"Is it still okay? At some point, I'll knock you down because I think you're some burglar!"

Giggling, I closed the window and collapsed onto the bed next to her.

Hazel rolled her eyes.

"Hello to you too, and don't be like that. I'm the only one who uses the window as an entrance."

I grabbed one of the open books scattered around the bed and leafed through it.

"Yes, because you're the only person crazy enough to climb up the front...
