Chapter 4

Chapter 4

I entered my room and began packing for the honeymoon. I took off the dress, put on a short white dress that clung to my body, reaching mid-calf. I slipped into low heels and started packing my bags. As I finished, I heard my mother's voice coming from the stairs.

Carmen: (calling) Darling, your husband has arrived for you.

Hayden: (responding to her mother) I'm coming, Mom. (She grabs her suitcase and leaves the room. As she's about to descend the stairs, she sees David approaching. He carries the suitcases down, and she follows him. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs) Thanks.

David: You're welcome.

Carmen: (from a distance) Take care, my dear. When you return, your suitcases will be ready for your new home.

Hayden: Alright, Mom. Goodbye. (She gives her mother a kiss.)

They leave the house, and David puts her suitcase in his car. They both get in, and he drives them to the airport in their private plane. The airport personnel help David load the suitcases onto the plane, and then they both board.

Hayden: (curious) So, where are we headed, David?

David: It's a surprise. I heard you just had a birthday.

Hayden: (smiling) Yes, three days ago. And on that very day, I found out I had to marry you.

David: Well then, let's get to know each other a little better.

Hayden: (nodding) Alright. What do you want to know about me?

David: (inquiring) What's your favorite food?

Hayden: (answering his questions) My favorite food is hamburgers. And yours?

David: (smiling) Hamburgers too. Favorite color?

Hayden: Violet or purple. And yours?

David: Blue and black. How old are you?

Hayden: (hesitating slightly) 17, just recently.

David: (surprised) What? You're underage?

Hayden: (playfully) Of course... What did you think? And I didn't ask about your age, since I already know you're 30.

David: (teasingly) My age doesn't bother you?

Hayden: No, not at all. I want to ask you a favor, though.

David: Sure, tell me.

Hayden: Can you help me with math? I struggle with that damn subject, especially now that we're going back to school and there's going to be a new teacher. I don't want my grades to drop.

David: (agreeing) Alright, I can help with that.

After hours of travel, they finally arrive. They disembark the plane, and a waiting car takes them to their destination. The service staff unloads their luggage and places it in the car. David opens the car door for Hayden, and after she gets in, he follows. The chauffeur drives them to their location. After about 30 minutes, they arrive at a house by the beach.

The house is quite spacious for the two of them, yet beautiful. It boasts a pool and an outdoor area with a view of the sea. There are loungers outside for enjoying the sunrise or sunset.

Hayden: (surprised) I thought we were going to stay in a hotel.

David: (grinning) No, this is your birthday surprise. Congratulations, wife.

Hayden: (overwhelmed) Wow! Thank you. It's beautiful.

They get out of the car, and Hayden grabs her suitcases. They enter the house, but just before going inside, David scoops her up in his arms like a princess. She lets go of the suitcases and holds onto his neck to avoid falling.

Hayden: (surprised and flustered) What are you doing?

David: (smirking) It's a tradition, now that we're husband and wife.

They step inside, and David puts her down to retrieve the suitcases. He hands her suitcase to her, and she heads toward the bedroom. She's amazed when she sees the room with a view of the sea. She envisions waking up here, and the bed is incredibly spacious.

Hayden's thoughts: It's just a shame we'll only be here for a week. But it's going to be an amazing week.

She places her suitcases aside and starts organizing her clothes. David checks in with her.

David: Do you like it, wife?

Hayden: (smiling) Yes, husband, it's very beautiful.

David: There are drawers over there for you to put your things.

Hayden: Thank you.

I place the suitcase on the bed, open it, and take out all my clothes. I start putting them in the drawers. David does the same with his things. I grab a pajama set, head to the bathroom, change, and come back out. It's a pair of shorts and a short-sleeved blouse. I lie down on the bed and soon fall asleep.

(………………….)

Three days later

I wake up alone in the bed. These past three days, he's been sleeping with me, but he always wakes up early. I search for my swimsuit. I want to take a dip in the pool. I put on my two-piece blue swimsuit.

I leave the house and head to the pool. I dive in and spend my time swimming. Suddenly, I hear someone entering the water and start searching around. Before I know it, someone sneaks up behind me.

Hayden: (startled) You scared me, David.

David: (teasingly) How's your conscience?

Hayden: It's fine. But since I didn't see you in bed this morning, I thought you weren't around.

David: Yeah, but I wanted to give you space so you could feel comfortable.

Hayden: (appreciating his thoughtfulness) Okay, thanks.

David: In a little while, I want to take my wife around to explore the place.

Hayden: (nodding) Alright.

We continue swimming for a while. Later, I head to the room, grab my clothes, and take a shower. I change into denim shorts, a pink blouse, and sandals. When I step out of the bathroom, I let my hair loose, apply minimal makeup, put on my sunglasses, and notice that David has also emerged from the bathroom. There's another bathroom in a separate room. He's dressed in dark blue pants, a gray striped t-shirt, and a black leather jacket.

Hayden's thoughts: He looks really good in this outfit. If it weren't for the fact that we got married without love, I'd probably jump him right here or let him take my virginity.

David: (catching her gaze) What are you thinking? And why are you looking at me like that?

Hayden: (blushing slightly) Oh, it's nothing... Let's go.

We leave the house, walk around, and enter various shops. I buy souvenirs as we make our way to a small restaurant where we sit down to eat. After finishing our meal, we return to the house to rest.

(…..)

Sunday night

Before we reach the house on the plane, I send photos of our honeymoon to my parents and he does the same to his. Among the many photos, I send one where we're outside the car, either standing together, hugging, kissing, or just gazing at each other like two enamored souls.

In the next photo, a passerby takes a shot of us. We're in a place that might be a park or a spot where people go for walks. He's embracing me, and I'm smiling contentedly.

There's another photo of us in the same place where we kissed. Anyone looking at it would think we're absolutely smitten, and we can't get enough of each other.

Another day, we ask a stranger to take a photo of us. We make it look romantic to make it believable for our parents.

I take one final photo, intending to show it to his mother. When he asked me to take it, my cheeks turned red—not from the sun, but because of the sight of his body. He had gone into the water wearing his clothes. His white shirt clung to his skin, revealing his toned abdomen. But he didn't stop there; he unbuttoned his shirt, exposing his well-defined torso.

Finally, we reach the house. My mother brought all my belongings and his as well. We take our things to the bedroom and arrange them. I change into my pajamas.

David: (concerned) Tomorrow, I won't be able to drive you to school.

Hayden: (assuringly) Don't worry, I'll go by myself. Besides, my parents got me a car. Goodnight.

David: (softly) Goodnight.
