Pain. That was the only thing I felt.
Every step I took through the dark subterranean tunnels felt like my body was tearing apart. The poison burned in my veins, flaring up and eating away my strength with every passing hour.
But none of it mattered. The second I woke up and read her note, I knew exactly what I had to do. I didn’t need a tracker. I could feel her.
Even buried beneath layers of solid rock, the mate bond pulsed between us. It was flickering, growing fainter by the minute, but it was there. And that was all the direction I needed.
