She was looking at me with confusion, caution, and different emotions on her face.

I knew that the trip suggestion would be a bad idea, but I just wanted to try it out. I wanted to win her trust again after what I had done to her and how much I had tainted her reputation.

Although I wouldn't deny that I enjoyed it when I heard people calling her my girlfriend, I knew that she wasn't comfortable with any of it.

She must see me as a jerk for not coming out to say that she wasn't my girlfriend or fiancée or whatever rumors were flying around.
