It was finally the third day. The day everything was supposed to change or so I hoped.

We woke up early, way earlier than I wanted to, but Madriod was acting like this was some final exam we couldn’t fail. I cleaned all that slimy stuff off Elsie’s body, gagging every five seconds because the smell? Yeah, it was still terrible. Madriod, on the other hand, was pacing the room like he was about to lose his mind.

When I was done, he grabbed the book and stood in front of Elsie, his face all serious. “Okay, here goes nothing,” he muttered.
