When Arthur took her inside the car, she felt panicked. "Come in right now!"

She glared at Arthur, horrified, for she had just witnessed what Arthur had done to Craig. She was relieved because he had saved her from Craig’s earlier attempt to harm her.

"Why did you allow that man to cause you harm? Do you still have feelings for him?" Arthur spoke up, his voice deep enough to make her cry.

When she thought of Craig, tears welled up in her eyes. Arthur sighed and rolled his eyes, knowing that Craig would have beaten her if he hadn't passed Maria.
