"Daddy, is Mommy very sick?" Melany asked Salvatore, having noticed her mother’s absence over the past few days.

"Yes, she’s very, very sick," he answered, helping her carry a suitcase. Then he turned to Eithan, who lowered his head in a gesture of sadness.

"When will we be able to see her?"

Salvatore gently stroked the boy’s head, showing compassion.

"When Mommy feels better, she will come out of the room. Go to school; let’s hope she recovers soon. Right now, her illness can be very contagious, but everything will be fine."
