The carvings stared back at me, ancient and unyielding.
I stood in the hidden chamber of the Forgotten Ruins, my hands pressed against the cold stone. The story was carved into the walls—a story of betrayal, of darkness, of a sister's love turned to hate.
The Moon Goddess had created the Night Mother.
She had poured all her darkness into her sister so that she could remain pure. She had used her, twisted her, and then thrown her away when she was no longer useful.
